God’s Wrath
So I’m very tired of every time we have Zika, West Nile, Swine flu, and now CODVID-19 (Corona) it’s always someone did SOMETHING to piss off god. Really? Can we not...?

Because religious people are mislead by Bible on the true nature of reality.

Bible doesn’t recognise natural world or natural causes, like that perhaps the drought can resulted from a volcanic eruption in the Philippines, that Nebuchadnezzar invaded in pursuit of Babylonian commercial interests and that King Cyrus had his own political reasons to favour the Jews, that diseases are caused by germs.

Every bad thing that happens in the world is, according to that idiotic mindset in the Bible, punishments for people's sins and every good thing is rewards for good deeds.

Althoug not all ancient religions were this stupid. Animist and polytheist religions depicted the world as the playground of numerous different powers rather than a single god. Greek historians such as Herodotus and Thucydides, and Chinese historians such as Sima Qian, explained that wars and revolutions break out due to a plethora of political, social and economic factors. People may fall victim to a war for no fault of their own.
teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

We forget that viruses evolve much faster than we do. They have thousands of generations per day, while we reproduce much much slower. People more vulnerable to it die, that what we call natural selection, cruel that may be, it is the reality. Fortunately we can mend it a bit with medicine and prevention.

Keep safe and follow the world health organization recommendations.

Cousins: It's evidence that God really does exist. You heathens just don't want to see it!

Me: What's wrong with flaming letters in the sky, "Don't be assholes!"?

Cousins: You always have to make it personal, don't you?

Me: You caught me, I was speaking to all the assholes here.

What with all the fornication, lying, stealing, blasphemy, idolatry and so on that goes on in the world, you'd think God would be bloody pleased with us and send down candy floss and ice lollies instead of diseases.

RE: God’s Wrath
It was always weird to me that people would say these things are god's wrath, as if he can't come up with an idea to punish humanity, that doesn't also involve hurting his own people. Then again, christians often believe we're born in sin, and no one is really good, or innocent. The epitome of dehumanization.

"No human has ever thought up a god with better manners than his own." I would add "and many of those god were horrible, like their human imaginers."

And to continue the quote, ‘Most gods have the manners and morals of a spoiled child.’
