You’re technically wrong. The virus is either ‘coronavirus 2’ or ‘novel coronavirus’. It’s the disease that’s caused by coronavirus that’s called ‘COVID-19’. The disease is what happens as a result of the virus. Like the difference between HIV (the virus) and AIDS (the disease).
