Yes, it's possible for human being to extract more energy out of something than the energy we put in - as every single extracted barrel of oil handily shows.
Jesus - does that sort of stupid hurt?

There are 1700 kWh in a barrel of oil. Do you think that it takes more than 1700kWh to extract it?

There is no such thing as recycled fuel without an input of energy.
Combine a hydrocarbon fuel with oxygen and there is a release of energy, water and Co2. Forget water for now and forget the energy, it's gone, we're left with Co2. To make fuel out of Co2 nature wants its energy back and there will be a loss. It takes more energy to create this new fuel than the new fuel has.

I feel like I'm taking crazy pills, lol. OFC there's been an input of energy. The majority of which, in the case of the recycled fuel in question, happened many many years ago, before our species existed - and then more recently when we pumped it up and refined it.
Now, a usable fuel product sits in the atmosphere as environmental pollution - a consequence of that effort.
How about you, do you think that it takes more than 1700kWh of energy to extract a barrel of oil?

Err hang on a moment, your claim is it's possible to create new fuel from the by-products of the spent fuel without an input of energy. You can't do that.
Honest question. Do you understand the laws of thermodynamics?

Why do you think that I'm claiming that? I only noted that it's possible for humans to produce more useful energy than they consume in that effort. We do it all the fucking time.
The laws of thermodynamics don't make the existent impossible. -crazy pills
It's academic, really, since a remediation project can consume much more energy than it produces and still be a-ok with that. Let's invent our own units of measure for simplicity. Lets assume that some remediation project consumes 120 Nudgers of energy, and produces 20, while removing carbon from the atmosphere. Net loss of 100 nudgers.
Well......okay. What's the problem?

If you're fucking with me just say so so that I can laugh along with you? I'm starting to wonder how many people believe that the laws of thermodynamics make energy production impossible.

I guessed correctly, you don't understand the laws of thermodynamics. No problem, most people don't.

What law of thermodynamics makes energy production impossible, and how do we explain the sheer existence of energy production if that's the case?
