(CNN)Teen activist Greta Thunberg is urging the world to listen to scientists  Hehe as she describes the devastating impact the coronavirus pandemic is having around the world.

"During any crisis it is always the most vulnerable people who are hit the hardest, and that is children,"    she said.
"Especially in the global south, people in the poorest parts of the world, especially people living in conflict zones and refugee camps," she added.

Appearing on a CNN Coronavirus Town Hall  Hehe , hosted by Anderson Cooper and CNN Chief Medical Correspondent Dr. Sanjay Gupta, Thunberg addressed misinformation around the disease, including how it was originally believed that Covid-19 affected only elderly people.

"Yes, this does affect elderly people a lot, but we also have to remember that this is also a children's rights crisis ," she warned, "because children are the most vulnerable in societies."
"Children do get the virus and they also spread it."

A role model for many young people around the world, 17-year-old Thunberg self-isolated from her family earlier this year after believing she had contracted the virus -- although she has never been tested.
She explained that in her home country of Sweden, "you don't get tested unless you are in need of medical help."
Thunberg self-isolated anyway because, she said, it was "the right thing to do."   Hilarious

Despite having had what she describes as mild symptoms, she posted about her experience on social media to raise awareness about the virus and the appropriate action to take.

"Many people don't even notice that they have symptoms and then they might spread the virus without even knowing it,"   she said.
"So we have to be extra careful, because our actions can be the difference between life and death for many others."

"We're talking about washing our hands and staying home  Hilarious  but for many people in the world, they do not have access to clean water or sanitation, to soap," she said.

"They may not even have a house to stay home in."
"That's why we need to help the people who are most vulnerable to this crisis in ways that we might not think about in the global north," she added.

Despite sounding the alarm over the virus , Thunberg said she does see a silver lining to all this.

"People are starting to realize that we are actually depending on science and that we need to listen to scientists and experts.

"And I really hope that stays," she said, adding that she hopes it will apply to other crises "such as the climate crisis and the environmental crisis."    Bwahahahaha!!!

RE: Medical expert gives an alternative opinion on covid
You know, here I was, expecting you to post to some crank with some bullshit idea of what COVID is, but you surprised me...

... instead you just spent it reposting an excerpted CNN article about Greta Thunberg, and ridiculing her admonition that the people should listen to experts in major crises like that’s self-evidently wrong. And, indeed, the article states that Thunberg is not an expert, that she doesn’t even pretend to be more than an activist, and she flat-out stated this in a Twitter post near the end of the article:
“Greta Thunberg” Wrote:I am not an expert. I am an activist. The only people claiming that I’m an “expert” are those who are trying to ridicule me. My message has always been to unite behind the science and listen to the experts.

Also, I’m fairly certain that there’s a rule against making thread titles this misleading, No. 24, I think.

For what it’s worth, I just reported it, citing the exact rule and why I think this thread violates it in the span of a single second.

Sorry but that is an incorrect assumption.
It's not her that im ridiculing, it's the people that added her to this panel, the people that are taking a child and using her for political reasons, the people that glorify her

RE: Greta gives us advice regarding covid 19
Gretta is far smarter than the orange fuckface squatting in the White House.

She is RIGHT on climate change and overwhelming majority of climate scientists agree with her, not big oil companies. And the simple fact with this virus scientists and doctors all agree even people in Trump's administration, all agree that any type of event that packs people in like sardines, right now is a bad thing. And the only thing, until a vaccine is widely available to the world, is to do what medical experts advise, just like Greta is heeding their advice.

And we are already seeing in places like Florida, that DID open up too early, rises in deaths. You can't cherry pick states, because to call the virus politically weaponized by the left when there are 50 states, and some are more populated than others.

Nope if you source something you are accountable for it and calling you out for that is not dishonest

I would tweak this and say, "I am not angry at laypeople for their ignorance or denial. I am angry at those in power that know better but don't care."
