Duran De January......
I was watching just now a rerun of  of the trivia game show"The Chase" and one of the questions was the origin of the name of the city Rio De Janeiro.

It was first established as a Portuguese outpost in 1502 when they landed on Guanabara Bay. It literally means, "River Of January." Named after the month the Portuguese landed in Rio.

Can't remember the exact question because it was happening so fast, but one of the answers was Lysistrata, The ancient greek play by Aristophanes. But according to this wiki page, the title means "Army Dispander". I do remember it was a comedy in which the women of the theme of the play refused to have sex with the men if they kept fighting.

Fascinating stories.  Absolutely riveting.  DO tell another.

edit: Is the story about Rio so absorbing for you that you linked to it twice?

DAMNED COMPUTERS! I swear I copied the play link. It didn't take. Thanks for pointing that out.

This is what I meant to post.

You should read ‘Lysistrata’. It’s really quite funny.

I did in college. That is why I brought it up. Can I remember the plot now, no, it has been a billion years. But that is why I brought it up. All I knew even back then in my understanding of the play is that the guys were not going to get squat if they kept fighting.
