Atheism is like baldness, not colorblindness!

Atheism is a choice, not a symptom of a disability.
Posting this mainly for onlookers and lurkers wanting to know a little more about what atheism is.
"You first need to believe in color before you can see the beauty in a rainbow".
This and many other logical fallacies covered in this excellent video.
It doesn't matter what team you're on, but only one is grounded in fact. (by definition, faith is only needed in the absence of facts).

I dispute that atheism is a choice - I'm an atheist because I perceive that to be the truth - no "choice" involved.

That being a Christian is not a choice? Yes, I'd imagine they do - and they'd doubtless be right, at least regarding the "belief" (orthodoxy) component - as for what they say and do (orthopraxy) I'd say they have a choice about that. Hypothetically I guess, Xtian Y could, for example, firmly believe in JC and God and heaven etc, but might decide such beliefs are counterproductive for mankind, that God doesn't WANT people to believe in him these days and that the world would be better off if religion died so that mankind could takes responsibility for things PROPERLY, and so they'd profess to be an atheist and never step foot inside a church and campaign for secularism etc.

Agreed. I don't think myself into a conviction, they just happen thanks to statements I'm exposed to and which I find compelling - hopefully thanks to evidence supporting that conviction. This includes lack of evidence for gods existing.
