How to be miserable?

Luckily the society is already set to be like that for everyone (unless you are born rich) so you have to fight your way to be accepted, hopeful, to find something that interests you or, more likely, force yourself into being interested into something....
teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

Agree. In some countries they have "nothing" to complain about.

Actually I was thinking more about this song when I wrote that post

And also Leary has some good advice for OP

Denis Leary ... isn't he the guy who plagiarized Bill Hicks greatly? And isn't he the guy whose original humor includes making fun out of the supposed stupidity of atheism? What I've previously seen of his material was about as funny as the least funny thing ever.

If those had been the first videos of his that I had watched then perhaps I could have found them funny. I'm sure even the worst comedians may be capable of being funny on occasion. But it's hard to find such a person funny after already knowing what a shitty comedian he is in general. I'm left with a bias I cannot shake due to bad past experiences with the guy. Apologies.
