Purpose? Is there any?

Without belief in deities for years now. I find difficulties with finding purpose.
Already tried religion, that lead no where. Looking for science answers strictly.
What are objective measures of purpose out there, or is it silly to ask if there's a purpose?
What do you do to find purpose?

Well, I spent twenty years helping keep my country safe. Then I spent thirty more years increasing the internet supply of documents relevant to my favorite historical subjects. I think I've made a contribution and served a purpose.

For me purpose is a state of mind rather than anything that we have to do
