First name means "ruler"

Middle name means "from Laurentum"

Surname: Can you keep a secret? So can I. At least one of my ancestors was one of those families whose surname got changed at Ellis Island to sound more "normal," and, by an extraordinary coincidence, not only was he the one whose surname I inherited, but said Anglicisation resulted in a name that's pretty much just a bisyllabic English phrase with both words pushed together. So, it's pretty much impossible for me to give away what said surname means without actually saying it. Fun Fact: when I pick up items from the library dropoff and they ask how my name is spelled, I just tell them "it's spelled exactly how it sounds."

Honestly, I would rather be named Beta, than put up with the shit I did as a kid with the name I picked.

Now as an adult I don't care. But when you are a kid, other kids can be quite cruel.

My first and middle names originated from words meaning "Fierce Wagon Driver". Gotta go watch "The War Wagon" again.

Well my first two initials represent BLOW JOB.

The irony is that I am adopted and back then, my adoptive parents offered me the opportunity to change my biological name, which I did. BUT, neither of them knew the implications of my initials which I adapted because I didn't like my old name. So shortly after they adopted me, we were on a road trip from Suburban DC VA on our way to Annapolis MD. I took the first two names at the top of the list being 5 and a half years old. I had no clue. Neither did they. I also could have picked Homer or Maximillian, which were lower on the list.

But even just this past week, watching college football, I noticed a player with the last name "Fagot"....... NO NO NO, NOT PRONOUNCED THE SAME WAY...... It doesn't matter when you are unfortunately dealing with bullies.

But still, I saw that this weekend and felt sorry for him.

Point is, I have a biological name, and an adoptive name, and to me, neither of them define me as an adult.

One of the most annoying things, looking back at my adoptive father trying to instill pride in me he used to say, "You are a (insert last name here), it will put hair on your chest".

All that, and you still didn’t translate your name. It means ‘noble supplanter’.

Or that your first two names aren't literally Bea and Jay.

Last - which one? So far I have had four. The first one is a bastardization of the German word for Friday, probably an Ellis Island thing. The other three aren't really mine.
