I just read that he has not been seen in public for 48 hours.  His advisors advised him not to speak while in the mood he's in.  I have to say I am surprised he listened to his advisors...actually I am sort of surprised he even has advisors.

Alarm sounds in White House. Secret Service man opens T.rump's bedroom door and shouts "GUN!" Ivanka takes her finger off the alarm button and says "Go ahead." SS shoots a thorazine dart into Prez.

We had a Fox guarding the Henhouse over the last 4 years.  And he gave a platform to fucking QAnon and White Supremacists.  We'll have a President that doesn't refuse to help people because they didn't vote for him.  I'll fucking take marginally better.  One election isn't going to fix this fucked up country.  One generation isn't going to fix it.  This shit won't be fixed in my lifetime, or probably my kids lifetimes.  But we can fucking get started instead of taking ten giant steps back.

Being better than Trump is a very low bar.  Just shut the hell up.   Don't crow about every little thing you do or pitch a fit when things don't go your way.  If you win the election, stop campaigning and complaining.  

I've never been a trucker hat wearing fan of any politician, including the president from my home town.  Blind allegiance is a dangerous thing so removing a demagogue is an immediate improvement.

Ugh.  I feel like I was diagnosed with cancer years ago.  And I spent a long time fighting it.  And I lost a lot of my health and the cancer did a lot of damage and I may never completely recover from it.  But now, I'm sitting in the doctors office, waiting to see if the cancer is in remission or if we're going to have to suffer for at least another 4 years.  

As it is, I mean, holding Trump himself accountable wouldn't be bad, but I don't want that to be the primary goal.  How about legislation, policy, laws..... those are the things I want to focus on.  I'd rather Trump walk away, scott free, and we raise taxes on billionaires.  I'm far more worried with the right wing propaganda machine than I am with Trump (who, btw, is nothing more than a product of that propaganda machine).  How about we worry more about balancing the supreme court that Moscow Mitch went out of his way to throw out of balance?  If we don't do that, there are going to be a LOT of problems for a very long time.  With the SCOTUS as it is now, I can very easily see Roe v Wade and Obamacare both being overturned, same sex marriage being thrown out and there will be no chance of repealing Citizens United.  

Yes, absolutely, throw out the republican con men, including the orange skinned sack of crap, but don't forget about the legislation and policies that are so important.

I agree with your assessment that focus should be on getting the people's business done. It isn't going to happen though if there is a Republican controlled Congress. The Blue Wave (I was hoping for a Blue Super Tsunami) has not materialized. It looks like we are going to have another split government in Congress. Nothing that we want will happen so long as the Conservatives are allowed to remain in our government. Get rid of the Republicans and we will finally advance our country forward.

Also,  I decided to test Trump's numbers so far with his vote count in 2016, and found something legitimately horrifying. So far, he's gotten 5,530,418 more votes this time around than last time, and, odds are, by the time you read this, the numbers will be higher. This means more than 5 1/2 million Americans have said "you know, I wasn't sure about Trump in 2016, but after seeing him set up concentration camps at  the border, jerk off Neo-Nazis, exacerbate racial tensions to heights not seen since the late sixties at the very least, doing whatever he can to turn America into an authoritarian dictatorship, getting impeached and getting away with it because the Republicans don't give a shit about the law, and giving as little of a shit about the pandemic that's currently raging as is humanly possible even after catching it, he's got my vote!"

I was thinking: what if a great deal of these Trump supporters are treating our political system and elections like a game? I.E., I don't like Trump, but he makes the snowflakes cry and that makes me happy, lol, lets make them cry some more. One has to be either rather ignorant or rather non-serious about the state of the country to be a Trump supporter, and I simply do not perceive half of the country being ignorant to the point where they would willingly prefer a dolt in charge. Therefore, my final assessment is that they mentally get off on playing childish games with the election system.

Maybe, but I think the situation is more of the Trumpsters being willfully ignorant and that they simply do not care what kind of man Trump is and they believe all his lies because he is saying what they want to hear, plus it is all entertainment to them.

Another thought crossed my mind: as one who works in a nursing home, we have a flyer up indicating that residents can vote if they want. Most are not cognizant enough to read anything or understand what is happening. Which makes me wonder, would conservative staff members illegally place Republican votes on behalf of these residents?

I would not put it past them.
