I don't know if you would call Antifa left, but I think it's time people stop pretending that this way of thinking is not radical. Book stores closing now because of threats from lunatics, and not conservative lunatics like it used to be. People on both sides are extremely f'd up right now. You should not be covering for these people by acting like they're not radical as hell. Liberals are supposed to be better than that. Remember when it was the Christian dominionists that we had to worry about burning books. Now you're defending the ones who are basically a mirror image of those dominionists.

I agree that there are radical people of all stripes.  Their methods and mindsets are the same, and should all be denounced.

I know Germany has a ban on neo-Nazis taking part in the political process, but I wonder if A) something similar can happen with blatant white supremacy or at the very least QAnon in America, B) what would happen to the Republican Party if it was put into practice, and C) what it would mean for democracy if the shell of the Republican Party can no longer function and no other rival party can rise to keep America from becoming a one-party state.

It would only mean good things. The republican party is a traitor caucus. If we were a one party dem state we would still have a far right and centrist left wing - a gift of the traitor caucus.

Fix the economy and we'll find the extremes of the bell curve will trend to fall inwards as people become less shitty with their world view.

This.  Big time.  People are willing to risk everything because they have nothing.  People want to destroy society because they're going nowhere in society.  If you want people to care about society and the people around them, they have to feel secure and right now, they don't.  

Unfortunately, economically, we've been pushing more and more to the right and things have gotten worse and worse because of it.  Biden is president now so I don't see things getting too much worse, but unless they get rid of the filibuster or Mitch starts making some concessions, we're not going to make any changes for the better, either.  Not to mention, Biden is way too much of a centrist to make the kind of radical changes our economy needs.
