Some argue that the granularity of reality (things being broken into quanta) is evidence that we're living in a sim.

The floaters in my eyes cause granularity.

I've heard that too, but the problem with that assertion is that there isn't a "other" reality that happens to be more continuous in nature to demonstrate that tessellation indicates simulation.

From the other end, it is precisely because of known features of this reality that our sims in this reality are granular.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

If for some nebulous, unfathomable reason, I were to take the pro-sim arguments seriously,  I’d demand that we drop everything else and devote all the lives, treasure, and energy we have to finding out who the Simulator is, and then punching it in its fat, stupid face.

Worst case scenario, we're running it.

pair o dax?

OK, back to basics.
We know our universe is made up of the periodic table.

Could all this be a lie? Could any base reality exist without its atomized building blocks? Hard to imagine. Even if you squint!

Hope it's ok to post in this thread even though no one has in a few months. It's still the third highest thread in this part of the forum.

Lex Fridman says the afterlife is possible. If the simulator decides to play the simulation back again. That's kind of like reincarnation where we are reincarnated as ourselves. Or would it be a copy of us experiencing that life and not the current us?
