The situation which took place this morning that has me considering not returning to work to finish my last two weeks:
Nearly seven in the morning, shift almost over, and the unit is filled with medical professionals. Half and half, morning shift nurses and aides with overnight shift nurses and aides. After a grueling shift, one of the residents (a fall risk) began to become restless and he tried to stand up on his own.
The morning nurse points at the resident and looks at me: "Roy, Roy, he's trying to get up."
Mind you, here's a roomful of other so-called medical professionals, most of whom are closer to the resident than me, but somehow he's solely my responsibility.
I told them I was clocking out and walked off the floor. The nerve. This field is becoming worse and worse, and I just can't deal with it anymore.
But now I feel as though I am coming down with a cold, due to all the recent stress at work, so I might not be able to work anyway.

I somewhat I feel as though I am glimpsing into the future with the novel I am currently writing. Not certain if I have given a description before, but here goes.
It's a societal post-apocalypse due to conservative ideology. The country has declined to third world status. One person, with the help of a partner, has the power to fix everything. But to do so requires drastic measures.

Chapter fifteen is coming along nicely.
