Good thing I checked my phone before going to sleep this afternoon. The hiring coordinator called me earlier this morning and left a message, but for some reason the call did not register on my phone until hours later.

Any who, I have orientation tomorrow morning, and I am elated. I am tired of sitting around on my keister.

Congrats!

Hope this facility isn't as trying as the last one was.

I hope you're happier at this place than the previous one.

I start working tomorrow night.

I'll be working thirty-two hours a week, which is considered full time in the medical field, and I will be working every weekend because I honestly don't have anything going on being the introvert I am. I will be working overnight shift, as I have always done, because I'm most comfortable being away from the hubbub of the daytime drama.

I will be working every Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday nights.

I will have three nights off in a row every week: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday.

I will have three nights of orientation, though I doubt I will need all three. I will post more later, once I've experienced the facility.

Ready for my second night of orientation.

I like the place. It has its drawbacks, mainly concerning the linen situation, but otherwise I am have gotten good vibes regarding the facility.

You should come out to California and work in a care facility. My MiL is in a facility that I can't praise enough. They have enough people, they are really nice, and even the medical insurance company we use sings their praises. My MiL is dying an inch at a time from Alzheimer's, but she's being treated well. Two years, and not even a bed sore!
If you get to thinking you’re a person of some influence, try ordering somebody else’s dog around.

Curious, where in Cali would that be?

How expensive is it to live there?

To put it plainly, if I had to rent this house (that I bought in '02), I wouldn't be able to afford to live in it. Prices are just getting stupid, is all I can say. My mortgage is $2100 a month, after we renegotiated to a 15 year loan, which is close to pay-off. You could probably get a condo or apartment for less, but I'm not naming prices, as I am not in the business.
