But Jack's friend convince him to make a go of it. But the funny part of the script writing is that the claims of his friends was that it would only cost $3,000 to get it up to code.
bold mine

Which was the funny part?

Furthermore, $3000 was a lot more money in [insert appropriate year here] than it is today.

Here’s a bit of trivia you may be interested in, Brian (not a question, just a fun-ish fact).

‘Three’s Company’ was based on the British sitcom ‘Man About The House’. The first episode of the American version was titled ‘A Man About The House’ and the first episode of the British series was titled ‘Three’s A Crowd’.

Cool, huh?

Cool, another interesting fact about "Threes Company", the American show, the faild spin off had Jack renting the the bistro, and paying Angelino rent for the property, but had a live in girlfriend who was introduced in the final epsodes of Three's Company, and that failed spin off was called "Threes A Crowd". It only lasted 1 season with 22 episodes.

Joice Dewitt (Janet) was upset that she was not included in the spin off. If I remember correctly, she thought the spin off would have her marrying Jack. I could not see that myself having been a huge fan back then. To me the roomates were more like sister and brother than potential love interests. I think it would have come across as creepy if they had Janet marrying Jack.

But, I would have loved to have seen Felipi become the cook at Jack's Bestro.

Just now watching an episode where some 'Hare Krishnas" show up at the Regal Beagle and hit the gang up for donations.

Chrissy falls for their lines and initially follows the leader.

I love this episode because it really could apply to any religion. Chrissy eventally sees it as a con in the end.

One of the lines had Jack saying, "We've decided to keep it, and name it after you."

What was the reason for that line, and who was he saying it to.

HINT, it was a response to a misunderstanding.

The reason for it was that he had just stolen the warp core of a Defiant class starship. He was speaking to Locutus of Borg.
