My mind knows there are a language of hand jestures that mean something to the musicians watching the conductor, but I was simply posting this to admit, I couldn't understand it to save my life.

All I have is my layperson's lame attempt to make sense of it.

Conductors look to me, like some desperate kidnap victim who escaped and is trying to flag down a passing motorist to save them.

It's in the Wikipedia article that you linked. Fucking read it.

What is your problem? Stop taking life so seriously, you'll never get out of it alive.

I DO know what a conductor does. I simply don't understand it.

I was actually being SARCASTIC in admitting I could not do what a conductor does, much less play any musical instrument.

I am not into classical music in general, but I do have few favorities. I simply was being  SARCASTIC in how it is all orginized and done and the fact that I couldn't carry a tune in a bucket.

But there's no reason for you to not understand it. You linked to a Wikipedia article that explains it.

Hello McFly.....

I also understand the NFL, have a favorite team. Washington has sucked donkey balls since 1992. But that does not make me a player or couch or stratigest in the sport. But being the layperson I am in NFL history, I do know that Bill Belichick knows what the fuck he was doing with the Patriots, even though I don't know how the fuck he did it all those years.

I DO know that a conductor leads the music. I simply don't understand the gestures. Just like I can tell you in the NFL you need to get 10 yards within 4 plays to keep the ball, but don't ask me about strategy.

Your sports analogy and misplaced insult aside, what I’m saying is that you CAN understand the gestures - they are explained in the article you linked. No one’s asking you to become a conductor or a musician.

I just don’t understand why you won’t address your non-understanding when you have the resource to do so. It’s almost as if you’re taking pride in being willfully ignorant.

I would, but I’m busy polishing my baton.
