Hi!
March 10, 2011 at 11:32 am
I'm new here - I've just registered and this is my first post.
I don't know if I have too much time to spend with talking and don't have too much appetite for debates, but perhaps there may be some usefulness in discussing on this forum. I hope I would find some open-minded people that can bear a smart discussion and can respect others with different views.
I didn't post on the "introduction" section instead, mainly because I expect some discussions to happen here and because I don't like talking about myself.
As I don't know what to start with, and I am currently quite bored, perhaps you can say something and we'll see where the discussion will lead.
Thanks.

Two questions:
1. Which religion are you a heretic of?
2. Which one or more established beliefs of a religious body do you reject and why?

Welcome.
"There ought to be a term that would designate those who actually follow the teachings of Jesus, since the word 'Christian' has been largely divorced from those teachings, and so polluted by fundamentalists that it has come to connote their polar opposite: intolerance, vindictive hatred, and bigotry." -- Philip Stater, Huffington Post

1. I'm some kind of christian heretic.
2. I reject all organized religions. That's what being a heretic actually means, I suppose.
Why I reject organized religions: All force their beliefs on their subjects: you either believe all what they say, or you're not one of them, there is no middle way. All have written beliefs that must be blindly obeyed and unspoken beliefs and rules that must be kept. If you don't, you're regarded as a heretic, no matter how odd they are, and that they are wrong. And organized religion implicitly asks blindly trusting man and not thinking with your own head (which is somewhat funny, because both are condemned in the bible). And it is interesting that if you show them that they do and believe against their own bible's teachings, no one cares, and you're regarded as a 'heretic', even if they can't prove you wrong. And this shows clearly how they are thirsty of whatever their preachers/priests say, regarding their words as absolute truth and divine, while no one cares how it is actually written in his own bible. Another funny thing is how "the official religions" have perverted the words' meanings, that even now are understood badly by all (or 99%+) people. Among these words are "church", "saint", "angel", "demon", "priest", "bishop", "deacon", etc.
Anyway, no organized religion = no religious authority = freedom.
Interestingly, in the early years of christianity, it was not organized (as it is now), and it could have not, because it was a minority not accepted by the society. And that also means that there was no religious authority. But, as it 'evolved' it became a political system that forced into its corruption and idiotic teachings all people and persecuted (later, even killed) anyone who did not agree with what the leaders said, imagined or invented.
And now, religion = politics: you have political parties (denominations) that fight each other to receive more adherents to their party; no one cares about who is right and who is wrong, but hold on to their religious party (as supporters of political parties hold on to their political parties no matter what), fighting the other parties; the religious parties struggle to convince people that only this party (religious institution) can give people happiness and fulfill all their needs (as political parties do); you have religious leaders as you have political leaders, etc.

Want to avoid debates? Do what I do (minus presenting my own opinion... to avoid debates: you better avoid presenting my opinion. Yours is fine, but mine will have everyone and their mother at your throat, as I am the only person who can A: State it with a straight face, B: not be insta-banned because I'm an established member with many posts and a world-wide fanbase, and D: properly express my views. There is a singular exception to this... well, two actually... but neither of them are you.)... and avoid the atheism forum, the religious forums, and also any forums about science. The off-topic and arts forums are about the only ones you can *usually* escape debates in ^_^
I don't know so much about usefulness.... i know that sounds weird (me being a resourcist and all)... but it is true. Do you find personal development, learning, or having fun to be "useful"? If so: you are likely to find discussing on this forum useful. If not: run for your life before you become yet another of my adoring fans ^_^
I believe I command a fair level of respect on these forums, though they might on occasion be tinged by either my childishness or my being a nutcase... but if I can fit in here: you would have to be psychotic and a jerk to lose respect for having different views

I'll discuss with you till you are blue in the face as I sing my comments out merrily, and when you die I'll continue on unfazedly typing out my comments in a merry mood ^_^ This is because I am a Cheerio, and you could eat me if I wasn't so delicious ^_^

Thanks.
I am bored, but I always find something to do with myself ^_^ Things I do when I am bored in order:
0: Long chat with someone I like, alone, in a dark or otherwise mellow setting. This is my favorite thing in the world to do, but it presents itself very rarely... especially since it usually needs to be long for the full emotional significance can rise. I will talk if I am bored... i am a socializer at heart. Once i have my new skin, i will no longer have any barriers in my way. Much looking forward to that I am.
1: If I have a decent internet available, I will play RIFT. And I will enjoy myself. And I will heal many dying people. And that will make me feel very good. And I will chat with several people while I am healing. Then the tank will die while I am busy making someone smile. And I will be upset. And I will cry. And I will miraculously save everyone else in the raid with my haxxor healing skilz.
2: Sex. If there is someone around me that will fuck me, and I do not have good internet: I will probably endeavor to convince them to have a good time with me. I am usually successful. But sometimes I am not. But I am pretty sure I only fail at these times because I'm not really trying. Sex topped every video game since perhaps 4-5 years ago... but now RIFT is out. Eventually my insatiable sex drive will have the natural order reset... but today I am in love with RIFT.
3: Turn Master of Orion on, start playing. Realize it is three in the morning. Keep playing. Realize it is cold at 4. Keep playing. Understand that I won't be able to keep playing if I freeze to death and never sleep and turn game off after saving, fix the fire, go to bed.
4: Check this forum and facebook. By now I'm super-bored. Unless I check them when I perform my morning ritual, which is more done out of courtesy to others and to make others happy than it is to get myself woken up.
5: My email. I check it, knowing before I do that nobody cares about emailing me, because I fall into an endless guilt spiral if i haven't responded to someone in a day or two, and then that just gets worse until it reaches a point that I hope they just forget they emailed me, because I can't bring myself to give them reason to be disappointed in me by reminding them that I emailed them.
6: Umm... any movies or games seem appealing right now?
7: Porn. The path to erotic novels, sex stories, videos and pictures of naked men and women, pictures of sexily dressed women, and endless drawings of anime and its ilk is paved by boredom.
8: I will fucking read a book if nothing is available/appealing to me >_<

No, I don't fear debates and I don't intend to copy-paste what others say. I only say my view, even if it contradicts everyone's view.
The fact with the debates is that it happens to spend many days trying to prove or disprove something, you write a post and receive 20 replies to it, etc. And I have neither the time nor the disposition to lose so much time and read carefully a lot of text.

I don't know what resourcist is supposed to mean... anyway, I mean learn one from another by discussions and different views exposed and explained.
About boredom... my boredom is a kind of a must to do something very boring but very important, and that takes a lot of time (namely, it seems to have no end), and if you don't do it, you feel frustrated because you're losing a lot of time and not doing what you should. I'm also depressed and other things, but this is other thing.
P.S. the question might not be fit here, but what are the kudos, and how do you give them? (I understand kudos to be a kind of "I agree with you").

Earth. It's a rock. Hence the birth of rock! ^_^

There are two very important unspoken rules of this forum. 1: Don't take anything Aerzia Saerules Arktuos says seriously, she is being silly. 2: Follow unspoken rule number one.
You won't receive 20 replies in a row unless you leave for several days... and even then it is more likely that the thread dies out around 6-8 or so.

Neither do we. It is a temporary word to express my philosophy since I don't know a better one. My morality modifies based on resource availability, ie: many bananas? Not a crime to be selling them a dozen a dollar. Bananas endangered? Crime to sell them for eating.

I do not suffer from this problem: i expressly will not do busywork. When it comes to education, it is almost entirely useless to me (only useful if the teacher doesn't explain orally and more importantly: VISUALLY).

Kudos are the thumbs up button on the lower-right hand side of each post. If you would give someone a "+1" or "well said" or "exactly!" for their post: you should kudos it.

1. I really thought you were a boy. Perhaps the reason was games. Is Aerzia Saerules Arktuos your real name? Anyway, just curios... what country are you from?
2. I really thought RIFT was a driving game - I don't know why.
3. And I suppose only the starter of the topic can add reputation, right?
4. to answer to KichigaiNeko - "What part of this rock are you from??" - somewhere in eastern europe, I don't want to be very specific about this.

He thought *I* was a guy? Maybe I didn't give him a proper blast of personality
My name is Aerzia Saerules Arktuos. I am from Alaska. It is big country.

There is a driving game of that name. But no, this is RIFT. It is a MMORPG.

Not at all... you can add reputation whenever
