I guess when it comes to advertisement, I got suckered. I also don't want to go bungie jumping either, but sometimes you look and think and get to a WTF buy.

I love wasabi, so I was looking at this instant soup today and thinking I could handle it.

There are spices that burn that don't go by the same spice name.

Nobody is trying to claim all hot spices are the same species.

If you actually read my post you'd know that I dared myself to go for this microwave soup, having nothing to do with wasabi. But having braved wasabi before, the INTENT of this post was to denote I took a self inflicted dare looking at a food item called "Fire Bowl" and if that does not imply spice, I don't know what does. So based on that "Fire Bowl" label, I wondered if it would burn me like wasabi did in the past. Whatever spice this soup had, DID burn me differently and longer than "Fire Bowl" brand soup did.  But I will say, that as burning and hot as that soup was, wasabi is far more survivable.

Wasabi is a very specific plant. The current market price for wasabi root is around $350 per kilo. What you think is wasabi is almost certainly local horseradish with mustard and colouring agents added.
