What do you know today that you didn't know yesterday?
RE: What do you know today that you didn't know yesterday?
Reminds me of my old Dell computer, with internal connectors deliberately wired backwards, so that one couldn't easily swap-in non-Dell components.

Either these people in Harbin, China are actually resorting to wearing fursuits to deal with temperatures that can reach below zero or the PRC doesn't know that furries are a thing.

The sad thing is that I can actually believe either one.

Darwin's Fox

Had to look it up when I first heard it because it sounds fake. But it's real.

Former president Barak Obama has more animal species scientifically named after him (9) than any other former president.

Former president donald trump, on the other hand, has more dogs in russia named, not necessarily scientifically, after him than other former president

Apparently, there's laws for carrying around knives in Illinois and the two I carry around in my pencil pouch (one for... edgy shit and one for when I actually need to cut something) are too big to be street legal. For the state of Illinois, the limit is 3" blade length (my proper knife is just above that limit, the duller knife is about at the limit.) And for the city of Chicago, the limit is 2.5". So now, I have to look for a folding knife with a 2.5" blade that works well with short nails.

I’m not sure why I didn’t think it was possible to kill someone by stuffing them in a suitcase and doing nothing else, but evidently it is.

And now I find myself wondering if she might have gotten away with it if she had just dumped the body in whatever remote location was handy and just gone around like nothing had happened.

Javeno Mclean is a guy who opend up a gym exclusively for people with dementia and disabilities. And it's 100% free.

teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

Alice Walker, author of The Color Purple, is apparently not only an Anti-Semite, but a firm believer in David Icke's conspiracy theories. Yes, the reptilian guy.

I now want to know the next time Alice Walker comes to town so I can dress up as a Reptilian and see how everyone reacts, especially when they find out she actually believes in them.

The Perseverance rover, which is on Mars, internally holds a piece of a Mars meteorite found in Antarctica, which is used to double-check the spectrograph’s readings. That rock is thus the first object to make the round trip journey from Mars to Earth and back.
