What do you know today that you didn't know yesterday?
RE: What do you know today that you didn't know yesterday?
I like that video. It's a favorite of mine. I especially like the bassist's head wagging.

Apparently, Godley & Creme decided that it'd be an interesting way of using rapid editing to create a flipbook-like look, but its execution looks like it's a low-effort version of "Sledgehammer."

Notice how, even as unnatural as the pixilation techniques Aardman used in the video look, they're still less chaotic (I don't know how many frames per second they used in Sledgehammer, but edits in the Wang Chung video are as quick as 1/25 of a second) and the stop motion at least lets it blend in well.

Fun fact, I only care about the music. Not the video. I haven't even gotten into TikTok yet, and probably won't.

Attempted my first audiobook today - ‘White Teeth’. Made it about 20 minutes and gave up. Nothing against audiobooks, but it occurred to me that I’d been rejecting them without giving them a fair shake.

Not for me.

I'm half in and half out. I've been enjoying Steinbeck's East Of Eden in isolated bursts. The writing and narration are incredible. That can make or break the experience.

It took me a couple tries to be good with audiobooks.  It's nice if I find a good one with good narration to entertain me while I sew.  I think it was a bit of a progression for me from podcasts to audiobooks.

And, since I was essentially listening to TV series and movies while I was sewing, I was listening and not watching.

Precisely-it’s a preference, nothing more.

Somebody studied the spoken word count of 2000 screenplays.

Apparently, the wordiest screenplay of the 2000 is Casino, which apparently has 19 fewer words than The Sun Also Rises and the one with the fewest words is Son of Saul, which has 14 more words than Lupe Fiasco’s “Mural.” And the second-least wordy film is Pixels, which has 88 more words than “Mural.”

One would not have expected Pixels to be such a masterpiece of visual storytelling.
