After years of putting up with his BS it looks as though my daughter is finally done with her husband's crap. She is working to get away from him by the time their lease is up in March. She seems serious this time...she is completely out of fucks to give. He lost another job...one she got him at her place of employment to keep them afloat.

Her goal has been to get The Bail through high school and now Bail is almost through her first semester of college. So, she did what she was determined to do. She finally realizes that you can't help someone who doesn't want to be helped.

I'm just trying to be as supportive as possible. She has put her whole life aside to keep them going in order to raise their child. Now maybe she can have some peace and a life.

I can understand how some people just are not meant to work. They are the modern equivalent of Victorian people who could not deal with certain circumstances. But if your daughter is not comfortable taking care of him, then, yes, she is better off leaving him for her own sanity and happiness.

She has been taking care of him for 24 years now.  He can depend on her but she can't depend on him.

That's just the tip of the iceberg.

Turns out I never really paid attention to the lyrics of the How Soon is Now song for the theme to Charmed.

A show about female witches uses the lyric I am the son. Makes no sense.

Edit - I guess I always thought the word was sun.

It turns out the guy who taught me guitar was REALLY fucking wrong about how difficult "50 Ways to Leave Your Lover" was. And with confirmation from Paul Simon himself.

I was astonished enough that I felt the need to go through my archives just to see how wrong he was. So, here’s my guitar teacher’s version (and as always, just click to see a higher resolution version):

And here’s a version I just drew up in the same old notebook with the official Paul Simon-approved voicings (click to actually read the damn thing.)

In fairness, he did get the chords for the chorus right. And I may have missed a passing tone or two.

The guy who designs and makes pope's dresses and hats is gay. He also has a store selling perfumes exclusively to gays and some are directly for gay catholic priests.

teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"
