Poutine is a dish consisting of french fries and cheese curds topped with brown gravy. It originated in Quebec. I heard about this dish only recently. My maternal grandmother was from Quebec and did a lot of the cooking in our household when I was a kid. I can still recall the taste of her delicious meat pies. Surprisingly, she never prepared poutine or even mentioned it. I'll have to prepare it myself sometime soon. 

Depending on when she left Quebec, your granny may not have ever heard of poutine - it only dates from the late 1950s.

I've learned from Last Podcast on the Left that there's actually a theory about the JFK assassination that makes perfect sense, and it's honestly disturbing:

The shot that killed JFK was not fired by Oswald, and it wasn't part of a conspiracy and the shooter wasn't affiliated by one of the many groups that would have wanted the President dead; it was a freak shot from a member of the Secret Service who most likely reacted to one of Oswald's shots and fucked up really badly.

It makes the most sense with the known ballistic facts, and when you realise what a devastating blow it would have been for America's credibility if the President was killed by his own bodyguards, not as part of a coup, but because they fired at the wrong moment and shot him by mistake, the coverup makes perfect sense.

Why doesn't this theory get more play? Because if one thing has become clear, people want to see important events in terms of grand narratives, whether it's the Deep State or America's communist enemies or the corrupt and powerful Mafia or if it's just at the hands of some misbegotten soul who had a lucky shot, and the fact that we're still talking about it and the boys at LPOTL devoted six episodes to it speaks volumes about it 57 years later how much it's effected our national consciousness. To find that such a pivotal event in American history was just the product of a massive fuckup just deflates our grand narratives. The names of the father have been foreclosed.
