^ They already do that. Media focuses on transgender schoolteachers with big fake tits and other absurd manufactured culture war issues so working-class people won't notice the income inequality.
Since most people seem not to believe this is UAP thing is really aliens, it seems like a terrible distraction.

Pressure on Vatican to Reveal Archives After 'UFO Cover Up' Claims
It follows claims made by David Grusch, a U.S. Air Force veteran who previously worked at the National Reconnaissance Office on UFOs, in an interview in June that an Unidentified Aerial Phenomenon (UAP) was recovered from Magenta, a town near Milan, in 1933, before becoming a U.S. possession with the help of the papal state
Grusch alleged that then-Pope Pius XII had "backchanneled" knowledge of the UFO to the U.S., which "ended up scooping it" from them. When asked explicitly whether he was saying the Catholic church knew about the existence of alien life, Grusch responded: "Certainly."
NewsNation reported on Tuesday that it had been attempting to get the Vatican to publicly comment on the matter for a week, but had yet to receive a response. Newsweek approached the Vatican via email for comment on Wednesday.
Ross Coulthart, one of the journalists who interviewed Grusch prior to the congressional hearing, told the news network that other, unnamed sources had confirmed the story to him, and suggested that the Vatican's silence may be a sign of the claim's truth.
"It's a very difficult situation for the Vatican because if Mr Grusch is telling the truth—and I'm told he is—it's a difficult thing for the Vatican to admit without the U.S. concurring," he said. "I'm told the Vatican does have a very efficient intelligence service and it's long collaborated with intelligence services like the CIA providing useful intelligence, and especially in the wake of the Second World War."

teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

I like that story because I've seen a lot of people dismiss this because they think the UFO conversation is too American-centric. "What are the odds that all of these UFOs crash in the US and nowhere else?" The fact that the first big case allegedly occurred in Italy directly refutes that point.

It's an all angle push. 65% of americans believe in aliens, btw. Four in ten believe that ufos reported and investigated by the military are probably good evidence for intelligent visitation. One in ten think they definitely are.
It's been a damned good distraction, going on seventy some odd years now. It's also a great way to hide money and tech in plain sight and just generally fuck around on the taxpayer dime if you're a legislator. I wonder how many central american warlords our alien research money has murdered over the course of those seven decades?

Or....the catholic church ends up in every conspiracy theory known to man. One or the other. Pope and all his illuminati buddies are hoarding the alien stuff...won't tell their tithers. Personally, I doubt that the rcc would hand over alien tech. If they had a piece of that they wouldn't need to go around the globe fraudulently "confirming" miracles...they'd do some, with their raygun.

The 1933 Italian UFO crash was repeatedly debunked in Italy.
Another problem with David Grusch is in his bio submitted to Congress where he states he is currently the COO of "The SOL Foundation" along with Christopher Mellon and Garry Nolan.
Garry Nolan is a loon who claims an alien visited him when he was a child, he believes aliens have been on Earth "for a long time", and Tucker Carlson said Nolan told him that alien UFOs have killed 100 US military personnel.
Christopher Mellon has been one of the main orchestrators of the current UFO deception. He is part of rockstar Tom Delonge's "To The Stars Academy" (TTSA) and he showed a photo of a otherworldly "UFO" during a TTSA presentation that turned out to just be a blurry party balloon.
Mellon worked hand-in-hand with now-debunked UFO "whistleblower" Lue Elizondo on a massively successful (but deceptive) media campaign for the last 6 years.

The stats might say that but everything I see on the internet outside of the UFOlogy community is pretty dismissive of the topic. Like, almost universally. People don't believe it for a variety of reasons (from a woeful and conspiratorial misunderstanding like "it's suspicious that the government is confirming it" to the unfortunate but fair "who cares if aliens are real, I have bills to pay.")
Fox constantly talking about Hunter Biden, trans athletes and drag brunches is a distraction. CNN constantly talking about Trump's indictment is a distraction. Barely any media is talking about aliens! And even the ones that did only did one quick story on it and moved on, with the exception of NewsNation. Some of them didn't even acknowledge the E.T. implications; CNN's first article on the hearing just called it a "transparency hearing." If they're trying to use it as a distraction they're doing a terrible job. And that doesn't even consider the details - the fact that only a few members of Congress are investigating this and the Pentagon is desperately trying to shut the whole thing down... making it very clear that this is not a coordinated effort by the government, but government officials are conflicted about it.

If what the whistleblowers are alleging is true, then the Pentagon has diverted funds from other projects to study this, not the other way around. You really think the Pentagon needs an excuse to hoard more money? Are you aware that their budget passes as they want it on a bipartisan basis every single year? Are you aware that we had a endless war in the Middle East that provided a good enough excuse, and now we have what will be an endless war in Eastern Europe to justify the same thing? Are you aware they've never passed an audit? How in the world does it make more sense for them to make up aliens as an excuse?
DoD doesn't overthrow South American heads of state, the CIA does. And they're never warlords, just left-wing leaders who don't want to sell us resources. We know how they fund those operations - selling crack to inner cities, apparently.

You say this, yet when you Google "1933 Italian UFO crash debunked," all you get is people saying it's been debunked and nothing actually debunking it. I also think it's silly to say something with such little public information on it is debunked or confirmed.
