RE: Cool Optical Illusions
Here's another cool opitical illusion and it's one of my favorites. It was originated by Roger Shepard and it's called "Turning the Tables."

Do you think that the surface of the tables drawn below have different sizes?

What about this:

Well, believe it or not, the size of the adjacent tables in each of the pictures are actually the same. I wasn't totally sure whether or not that the second one is real, but when I rotated one of the tables and moved it close to the other table, it appears that the dimensions are exactly the same. If you want to see the proof, just take a look at an animation of rotating the tables at the links below:

I think you meant "same shape and size". Surfaces can be different shapes and still have the same size. For instance, a 2x2 surface has the same "size" as a 4x1 table, but obviously has a different shape. Big Grin
RE: Cool Optical Illusions
Yeah, I meant that they have the "same shape and size," but I thought people would get it anyways. Tongue Perhaps I should have said that they have the same "dimensions."
RE: Cool Optical Illusions
Oh, people would still get it, I'm just being pedantic. Tongue

What does it say about me that I saw the clown first?

I'm sure it's nothing bad. I saw the clown first also. Tongue
RE: Cool Optical Illusions

Oh shit.

I saw the background first then the clown....
