Jeremiah 49:33 predicts that Hazor will become an everlasting wasteland inhabited by dragons in which humans will never again dwell. None of this has happened.

Zechariah 10:11. The Nile is predicted to dry up. Did not happen.

It only takes one failed prophesy to invalidate Biblical inerrancy.  You're screwed, Mercyvessel - Nebuchadnezzar has come and gone, Egypt has been continuously inhabited through that time and subsequently, and the Bible is therefore wrong, wrong, wrong. Its claim to truth has therefore been falsified and can never be restored.

Offer the Bible only to someone you want to harm

teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

The sad thing isn’t that in the 21st century there is still Stone Age idiots like mercyvessel amongst us.

The sad thing is less idiot people are still idiotic enough to think reasoning with them will make them better.

Sure, I would much better be doing other things like exploring the Galaxy in a spaceship than trying to convince religious people that their imaginary friend is not real. It may seem futile but refusing to respect religion shocks the religious into realizing that serious criticism is allowed and can indeed be beneficial to everyone. Hearing someone call Bible or Quran a fairytale book, religion a myth, or addressing a preacher by his first name, or asserting that Jesus is an obvious rip-off of earlier gods, may even get some in the flock to think about their religion critically for the first time. We as atheists do no good for ourselves or for others by hiding in the closet.

Refusing to respect stupid ideas, eschewing polite tolerance in favour of merciless, unremitting and very public debunking and ridicule, is IMO, the best gift we can give to advance society and protect future generations from toxic BS.

The problem with the argument of fine tuning, aka the anthropomorphic principle or whatever it was called is that it states
“Someone setup the this universe’s constants, its properties in a certain way so that things function right and so that life exists.”

However, the same argument applies to the god. Who setup his universe? Who tuned it up and setup the properties of his universe so that god would exist?
Let’s call his universe Universe A.

If the theist is going to claims that the Universe A has always existed and that god has always existed, then I would have to ask why is he making that claim?
Isn’t it possible that the god he worships just an ALF (Alien Life Form)?
Why does he bow down to him? Why does he lick the ground that the ALF walks on?

(December 12, 2021 at 6:05 pm)Mercyvessel Wrote: One cannot compel another to believe, but the message must still be conveyed in and for the hope of GOD's mercy - this before the end of one's life, or the end of the age /time - whichever occurs first.  These two events can happen any minute - but be assured, they are both principally and undeniably inevitable! Sin is gravely serious - resulting in the first and second deaths/death of body and soul - and should be taken seriously!

"And as it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment" - Hebrews 9:27

The message, the good news: "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting lifeFor God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be savedHe who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God." - John 3:16-18

A warning of the inevitable for the unbelievingAnd He said to me, “It is done! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. I will give of the fountain of the water of life freely to him who thirsts. He who overcomes shall inherit all things, and I will be his God and he shall be My son. But the cowardly, unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.” - Revelation 21:6-9

Therefore, as the Holy Spirit says:
Today, if you will hear His voice, do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion, in the day of trial in the wilderness, where your fathers tested Me, tried Me, and saw My works forty years. Therefore I was angry with that generation, and said, ‘They always go astray in their heart, and they have not known My ways, so I swore in My wrath, ‘They shall not enter My rest.’ - Hebrews 3: 7-11

Why do you believe that the Bible is true?
Why did you join the christian religion?
When did you join the christian religion?
In which country are you located?
What is the religion of your parents?

Matthew 24:23 KING JAMES VERSION
Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is Christ, or there; believe it not. {24:24} For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect. {24:25} Behold, I have told you before. {24:26} Wherefore if they shall say unto you, Behold, he is in the desert; go not forth: behold, he is in the secret chambers; believe it not. {24:27} For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. {24:28} For wheresoever the carcase is, there will the eagles be gathered together. {24:29} Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken: {24:30} And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. {24:31} And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other. {24:32} Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When his branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is nigh: {24:33} So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors. {24:34} Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled. {24:35} Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.

^^^^^That generation has died a long time ago and the thing Jesus speaks off a little before 24:32, never happened.
Apparently, Jesus is saying that there are other guys curing people, fixing the blind, the death, the dead, etc.
Science error: The Moon never has given off its light. Primitive jews are not aware that the Moon simply reflects sunlight.
Science error: Stars are never going to fall from heaven. Primitive jews think that stars are little dots stuck in the firmament, which is basically a ceiling over the Earth.
No angels were sent forth and nobody has been gathered. Here, Jesus seems to be referring to Revelation. He is claiming that the stuff described in Revelation is going to happen in his day.
Science error: Lightning does not come from the east.

If i made any mistakes, let me know.

Silly person!

Purely a clarification question. Are these predictions all Old Testimate? Also... accept for the second one (only because of dragons), all three will come to pass eventually as the sun expands into a red giant.

Pretty sure they're all OT.

The last one specifically mentions Nebuchadnezzar (sp?). Unless he comes back and causes the sun to expand or go nova, it can never be fulfilled.
