Ahri, I now consider all of your possessions mine, I expect you to hand them over. There is no use arguing or trying to stop me, I don't consider  that you have a 'firmly held belief'. Government/law/society has no say in the matter.

Perspective?
What's stopping me from defending myself?

I have a greater ability to impose my belief, by force if necessary. Trust me, I own a very much larger stick.

Well in that case, there's really not a whole lot I can do.

Are you so dense that you can't see the value of society and the consensus of it provides? There are many many people in society with smaller sticks that could not stand up on their own, but together it/they get to make the rules that govern behavior societal interactions for all, no matter the size of the individuals stick.

This is why antivax/antimask people don't get to have their own way. Also the reason why any one particular religion does not get to impose their beliefs/morals/behavior on others.

Well I think that's a lousy way of doing things, but to each his own.

OK, then you should have no problem giving me your stuff. I also consider your mental health dangerous, you should have no problem with a lobotomy, or just death.

It's not a one time thing, all your stuff is mine, in perpetuity.

Unfortunately this is rational approach to opinion.  Reason and rational thinking have been cast aside and fear, selfishness and in-group thinking are prevailing.  We can't have a rational discussion about something if only one party shows up with a willingness to accept reality.  It's like two groups agreeing to play baseball, but one shows up with gloves, bats and balls and the other shows up with AK-47s.
Why is it so?
