But the US is currently stealing wheat and oil from Syria. Britain has stolen billions in gold from Venezuela. The US regularly sponsors coups in countries from which it wants to take resources. Elon Musk has announced that we can make a coup in any country we want, because he wants the lithium.

It is very much possible to raid other people and take stuff. It happens constantly.

After the US pulled out of Afghanistan Biden stole billions of their money, and gave half of it to people affected by the 9-11 attacks -- even though the people of Afghanistan had nothing to do with 9-11. That's theft.

Trump was insane? He certainly made crazy Tweets. But Biden has continued almost all of his policies.

And let's remember that everything they said about Trump's connections with Russia, the "kompromat," the piss tape, the Russian interference that cost Hillary the election -- all of that was lies. They lied and blamed Russia as a way to control the media. That's been proven.

How do you know this?

Corporate media in the anglophone world are obedient spokesmen for the US military/industrial complex. It cannot be trusted.

You are right that other countries have propagandistic media also. But China's propaganda ministry is no doubt jealous of the anglophone media, who parrot the government line with far less coercion involved. The government can lie again and again, and the obedient readers will believe them.

Tell the warmongers not to be the "smartest" please. In every war that comes along, the government lies to them, and they believe it every time.

1) I don’t understand people who cry after dictators like this. I was opposed to Bush’s aggression in Iraq. But I hate fascism to level in which I don’t care who does what to such people. I don’t believe in that sort of stability. Smile
2) Last Part: A country like mine could live 2-3 years with the Money thay the US spent in Afghanistan. And I still don’t understand what happened there. I would have left in 2-3 years, or I would just stay there like they stayed in Japan and West Germany. It’s all Trump’s insanity.
And please beware of insanity. We live in an era of insanity. SO you should try not listening to insane new-outlets.
What you are talking about ended after WWII. That’s why colonial empires had to be disbanded. It was 1962 when the French President General de Gaulle had switched his political discourse from “Algeria is France” to “Our power is within”. Today Germans are switching colonialist names in their streets to the names of African leaders who resisted European (German) colonialism.
Of course resources are important. That’s why Chinese are all over Africa. But the Chinese are there to somehow “convince” local populations and governments to give up their natural resources.
Yet, this is also a twisted way of doing things. So you are right in principle. But still: The civilized world doesn’t send mercenaries to steal mines. No one does that anymore Smile

3) I think he is still insane. Smile I’ve heard that Putin gave him a taste of Moscovan nights when he visited him before becoming the president of the US. I think he is even dangerous. Look what he did with the laws on abortion.

4) Russia is an empire. Empires must grow. Or they will shrink. That’s why the leadership in Russia after Putin is so important.

5) This last thing you said is a paranoia level belief system. I think you (all of you across the world – those who believe in conspiracies) are simply using too much social media. I think you guys should read more books and focus on some of the better traditional media outlets. Because I think erroneous beliefs will become a problem in your real life at some point of your life (lives). Smile

Yes. But he is not the only one. This is going to sound crazy all by itself. But I think it’s social media. I think people should limit their social media usage because I think it can quickly become completely misleading and lead us to completely insane ideas.

The problem is: There are many different viewpoints. But there is one reality. Reality is understood through logic and scientific rules. The universe was written in mathematical language. Not in the hypnotizing language of some social media users.

And this is what happened in the Capitol in 2020, and it happened again in Brazil 2 moths ago and it will happen in many other places too. I’m just saying that on a personal or group level, you will hit your head against the wall. At one point or the other.

How can you act as if there is no truth? I don’t understand this Smile

I agree. So does ISW, which has been arguing for a couple of weeks now that they've reached "culmination", meaning they lack the energy and/or resources to continue an offensive with any hope of meaningful advance.

Another russian marine unit chewed to pieces at vuhledar, where the last marine unit was chewed to pieces. The loss of these units tends to cause public outcry and nastygrams to the russian mod from survivors. That's part of why russia prefers to use wagner and recon by prison cannon fodder fire. Any hope of a spring offensive on their part is screwed if they lose their just-reconstituted naval infantry and vdv forces again.

A quotation on the issue of populism discussed above:

Hungary has plunged 24 places in the corruption index since Orban returned to power in 2010. The watchdog says the country is now in the “state capture” phase where authorities are generating graft instead of stopping it.

https://www.yahoo.com/news/orban-hungary...31856.html

Hungary (ruled by the populist Victor Orban) just overtook Bulgaria as Europe’s most corrupt nation.

So what I was trying to explain to Belaqua above is this:

Politics is no longer what it used to be in the Bush era. Today social media is a great tool for insurgencies like the Arab Spring or the Women, Life, freedom movement in Iran. But people are also using it to create alternate realities to back some so called “policies” which are there to give nothing to the ordinary individual but support the interests of a limited elite.

The above example is on Victor Orban. He managed to win the elections against a unified coalition. He managed to convince the public and make them vote for him. And he is not a modern Hitler either. He’s just filling his pockets and people are still believing his nonsense.

So this isn’t working at all Smile . I think everyone has to learn to use social media in a more safe and intelligent manner. That’s my opinion. I think people are clearly being hypnotized. I’m also thinking of events like the election of Georgia Meloni who is clearly working for the former corrupt president Silvio Bernuscoli and is openly an admirer of Benitto Mussolini. And none of these I rational decisions (I mean the people who believe in their version of reality and decide to vote for dishonest and clearly insane people).

RE: Russia and Ukraine
Biden is not sending F-16’s for now. But Poland, the Netherlands, France + other East European countries have agreed to send F-16’s with the condition of not attacking Russian targets in Russia (France). The training of Ukrainian pilots on this planes is likely to take 6 months. So this means August for Russian troops. Poland has admitted it has given Migs to the Ukrainians in secret (so have other east-European nations since the beginning of the war in February).

Poland is sending about 50 modern Polish design tanks to Ukraine. US + Netherlands are sending modernized Soviet tanks to Ukraine (I don’t know how they did this but it must be ingenious putting new components into Tanks from the 80’s).

And here, ladies and gentlemen is "the crux", the core of Bels Problems with trying to understand what is going on in everydays political life.

#1 Generalisation
Some media certainly are, some arent. But he makes a sweeping statement. Makes life so much easier, to run around and paint with a broad brush....also if you are kind of intellectually lazy (like not looking up what kinda fuel a modern gas turbine can use, or who even designed this turbine)

#2 He says "...can not be trusted", which sounds very rational. You need to (cross)check, verify. But what he actually means is :"is always wrong, and therefore any other source which contradicts is right".
Again, if "his sources" claim that Chrysler designed the powerpack for the M1, why bother reading CNN? CNN is, per definitionem ("..obedient spokesmen...") an anti-russian propaganda outlet. Ergo: Anything that contradicts CNN must be "not anti russian propaganda", and thats what Bel is looking for, right?

He starts out with "i can not trust big, public and official outlets because they are ant-russian propaganda" and ends up, literally, quoting articles from a personal friend of Vladimir Putin*, AND HE FINDS NOTHING TO BE WRONG WITH THAT!

The problems with his methodology of truth finding were so elegantly exposed by Thump who pointed out that Chrysler did not design the M1 gas turbine and any CURSORY search about propulsion of modern MBTs would have turned out that they all are able to run on various kinds and qualities of fuel. It would have been so easy for Bel to correct his process.

Just minimal effort on Bels side would have saved him from embarrassing himself. But his focus is not finding the truth, getting his facts straight, not even the most simple ones. His focus is finding "alternative truths", and presenting himself as smart(er), superior by presenting them. He wants to be part of a "select few".

This is his motto:

Much like with his pseudophilosophical babble, its more about him and his appearance, than about the topic at hand.

France doesn't operate F-16s in front-line duties. They may have a couple for aggressor training, but none in active-duty squadrons.

Poland and Netherlands will await American approval, which as you note doesn't seem forthcoming. But then again, we also refused to provide M-1s, until we didn't. Our American government needs to stop shilly-shallying about this stuff.

Also, send some brrt-brrt.

By simply taking a few minutes to not only discover that it is a Honeywell engine, but that it can run on various fuels, she could have learnt something. But she's not interested in learning, she's interested in shilling a viewpoint and facts be damned.

Well, I like facts, especially when I smell the stench of bullshit floating about.
