Here's an interesting discussion on the "Great replacement theory" and how Tucker Carlson propagates it on Fox News so much that he probably influenced the Buffalo shooter
The discussion begins after 5 minutes mark
teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

There is quite a bit of confusion these days about who is doing the replacing and why they're doing it. What John Yount says about coal miners in his novel applies to so many groups, especially laborers.
One miner has a good bit of sense. Put two together, they have half as much. Three or more have no sense at all.

Ideally, the best thing to do is to introduce them to the idea, and immediately afterwards, demonstrate why the idea is preposterous:
I had a fascination with far right thought when I was younger (not as a believer, more as another horrible thing to be morbidly curious about) and I think knowing many of these arguments and why they were bullshit helped inoculate me against it when it finally started to become mainstream.
As for how to reach them when they start believing in it, I honestly don’t know, especially since you can’t logic someone out of a position they didn’t logic themselves into.
