PS username: Kitanetos

I see you around on there from time to time, but problem is we don't seem to have much similar taste in games, and in any case I don't have the, is it PS Plus?, subscription at the moment to allow multiplayer in anything other than free to play games like Fortnite, which is basically the only game I play on the PS at the moment (I also have an xbox and PC for Steam). I don't even know if you can 'party up' without that subscription? Ie just to talk or whatever.

If you did want to give Fortnite a try, there's more to it than just the stereotypes. For instance there's two games; the one most people are familiar with - and which is like Marmite.... ie people love it or hate it - Battle Royale (ie Hunger Games-esque PvP), but also the lesser known original zombie survival/tower defense Co-op PvE (paid) game "Save The World"... that's the mode I prefer, but gets no press because it's the spinoff BR that made Epic its billions.

So yeah, if you wanted to give Save The World a go it's very cheap (£12.99... so a little up from that for dollars I'd guess) and I've played it for three or four years and it still has great replayability despite being an end game player in it. It's a very grindy game of collecting, resourcing, crafting, building, and fighting.

Also I will say, even if you don't want to fork out for that, and just want to try BR... though it's not my favourite mode I do play it occasionally and I think they have made some great changes in the last few updates, that make it bordering on something I might want to play more... the main thing is adding Zero Build mode which takes all the building out of the game - and building is what put a lot of people off the game because it created a massive skill gap (where building in BR is used completely differently from StW... in StW it's used for building defences, ie its namesake's Forts, but in BR it's mainly for fast movement etc)- making it more appealing to casual players as opposed to 'sweats'. That mode makes the game more similar to other shooters, like Borderlands or whatever, that don't have building, just sprinting, sliding, 'mantling' etc (which are also new additions to the game, in line with that). The other cool thing they've added is tanks, which are so OP, and so much fun to play... especially with thermal targeting... total game changer.
