Benito finito, this day in 1945

Benito finito, this day in 1945
Fascist Italian dictator Benito Mussolini and his mistress were captured  headed to the Swiss boarder on the 27th, and both were executed by firearm, and their bodies were taken to the village square of Piazzale, a suburban enclave of Milan ,where they their bodies were beaten and spit on and then were hung upside down.

A lesson of history, that free societies do not crumble overnight, but are slowly chipped away at when a charismatic madman, convinces the masses that the world is out to get them, and are to blame for their troubles, and he is the only person who can save them and make the nation "great again".

Two days later his sickfuck friend ate a self inflicted bullet in a ubnker in Berlin.

The world must not forget that history, the warning signs the  of a megalomaniac convincing the desperate and fearful that their democratic government institutions are evil, and the "others" are to blame, the media, political rivals, and other nations. Hitler and Mussolini, and for that matter Stalin too, all were obsessed with their own power, and all of them slowly convinced desperate masses to do their bidding. All of them vilified political rivals, liberal media, and rose slowly to power. None of them were famous when they first got involved in politics.

So, you're saying I should seize power, execute all potential rivals, open massive re-education camps, and not go for a walk through Piazzale?

Maybe what he's saying is after one day Republicans take over and introduce oppressive measures like the removal of Roe v Wade and start to monitor women's cycles to see if they had something illegal going inside their bodies, that people will take their guns and gun down the oppressors.
teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

Both interpretations aren't mutually exclusive.

Yea, you know, some neighborhoods are not safe.

It’s weird that, given how horrible he was, Mussolini has even been memorialized in the South Pacific.
