Show us o' genius the constitutional precidence of taxation of rights...

Bring back poll taxes???

Did you pay for your concealed carry permit? The interwebz informs me that Michigan charges $100 to process your application to exercise that right.

From now on - you want to protest in public??

Fine - you will need to get a carrier to agree to - or you yourself will need to post a $50,000 bond FOR EACH PROTESTOR.....

Them fuckers can raise hell with those Molotov cocktails.....

Oh, I absolute agree that it’s a de facto tax. So what?

My point is that this particular right is already taxed, a tax which you paid. So why ya cryin’?

Quote:Personally, I have noticed that the media almost always assumes that ostensibly racially motivated shooters are Ring-wingers but in the later revealed social media dives we often see lots of anti-capitalist rhetoric and disgust for right wing politicians and media figures.

That creates a disconnect in mainstrean debate because left wing politician/pundits I truly believe that in their heart of hearts they think that their policies will crack down on them redneck deplorables. Otherwise, why was there such reluctance to admit and crack down on the obvious violence of antifa thugs and some BLM activists? Once the Left finds in no longer useful to lie about the politics of these shooters, using them to smear a God given right,... once that happens...believe me their shooters and bombers will suddenly be called civil rights activists.

You think I APPROVE of that??

You know nothing. I mean really not a fucking thing about it.

I paid for my right - not because I approve of taxation of rights.

I did it - after much consideration by myself with the input of hundreds of other gun owners.

If we had done like the typical twat protestor and simply wailed about the injustice if it all -and refused to pay - concealed carry would have gone away faster than it came to be.

By GETTING the CCW and encouraging others to do the same (over 100 went through the class in my garage and on my range - which I donated for use... I even provided coffee and doughnuts) - we sent a message to state government. "WE WANT THIS".

It' s been 21 years.

Over 1 million permits were issued. Over 600,000 are current.

I say we knew what we were doing.

Our delusional friend has a huge problem recognizing ratio and probability. Humans of all races and all religions from every nation, certainly are capable of being violent and killing others. But in America, the biggest threat to public safety are not black and brown people, but white nationalists. They are not just a threat to public safety, but a threat to the existence of our Republic.

@Boru, on the one hand…I’m merely offering possible objections- as that was the question I was answering.

On the other, suggesting that due to myriad other states of affairs…many of which are specific to the us- not every objection to legally mandated insurance is bananapants. You wonder how a person who could purchase a piece of equipment might not be able to insure it. Good question, but that’s business as usual here. All the way up to housing.

The easiest way to kill that one wouldnt even take an ounce of creative untruth. It’s a giveaway to insurance companies….and there’s already a very strong bipartisan rejection to anything like it.

It’s also already the case that even with other examples of mandated insurance….you don’t have to carry it if the equipment never leaves your property and us only operated by yourself (and sometimes immediate family).

In summary, it would be creating a situation where only the largest and most well funded operations could legally do x. Certainly the case already…but not generally pointed to as a good state of affairs. We already know what it looks like when your bank account determines whether you can be legally armed.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

I’m not questioning either your right to own guns or you right to carry them in a concealed manner. I just think it’s a little disingenuous of you to bring up the issue of taxing your legal rights in the first place when you’ve paid that tax.

So, you against taxing your Second Amendment right, but only until it comes to something you want. That’s quite the moral position of convenience.

It' s better than your favored plan -chanting, carrying signs,  tying up traffic, throwing gasoline bombs at police and looting neighborhood businesses....... "CHANGE!!"
