Lindsey Halligan, the illegally appointed prosecutor, has been given one week to explains\ why she's still signing court documents as the US attorney for Easter Virginia. Judge David Novak (a Trump appointee) warned her that doing so could constitute false and misleading statements, adding, 'Consequently, it [the earlier ruling that declared Halligan's appointment to be illegal] remains the binding precedent in this district and is not subject to being ignored.'
Having dealt with judges and magistrates more than once in my life, this is court-speak for, 'You'd better make the explanation for this phenomenally good.'

US Vice-President JD Vance says Greenland is "critical" for the defence of the US and the world against possible Russian or Chinese missile attacks - and that Europe and Denmark have "not done a good job" in securing the area.
Vance told Fox News that they had not only under-invested in Greenland's defences, but also failed to engage with President Donald Trump's argument over the issue.

We can already do whatever we want in greenland. Been that way forever. We already violate greenlands laws and sovereignty with greenland and denmarks blessing, we float the possibility of storing our nukes in their non nuke state. This is one of those lies that's so stupid it exposes the contempt that the liars hold for the intended audience. It's the northern version of their southern border bullshit.

President Donald Trump's administration said Tuesday that it is withholding funding for programs that support needy families with children in five Democratic-led states over concerns about fraud.
The Department of Health and Human Services, which oversees the program, will require the states to provide extra documentation to access the funds.
"Families who rely on child care and family assistance programs deserve confidence that these resources are used lawfully and for their intended purpose," HHS Deputy Secretary Jim O'Neill said in a statement.
The administration has not laid out details about the fraud allegations.
Five states — California, Colorado, Illinois, Minnesota and New York — are targeted, and the HHS said they had been notified.
Gov. Kathy Hochul said earlier in the day that New York is prepared to take the administration to court, as Democratic-led states have done scores of times now.
"We'll fight this with every fiber of our being, because our kids should not be political pawns in a fight that Donald Trump seems to have with blue state governors," she said.

It would be much more believable if those five states withheld their federal taxes for exactly the same excuse.

That would sell a lot of popcorn.
Quote:Utah Sen. Mike Lee demands Charlie Kirk’s accused assassin be executed ‘in public’
Sen. Mike Lee has demanded that Charlie Kirk’s accused assassin be publicly executed over the conservative activist’s death.
“Execute Tyler Robinson. In public,” the Republican blasted out in an X post.
The accused assassin has yet to enter a plea. Prosecutors, however, have already indicated they will seek the death penalty if he’s convicted.
Under state law, executions in the Beehive State are not public.

teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

Words are hard for MAGAts.
Quote:“Tyler Robinson publicly executed Charlie Kirk,” Lee wrote in a similar X post on Friday.
There's a wide difference between an assassination and an execution.
Also, maybe it's best to wait and see if Robinson is found guilty and sentenced to death before screeching about public executions.

Call me cynical but that's just a Republican stunt to portray themselves as supposedly anti-crime. Republicans advocate for public executions, and when laws and common sense prohibit them, they blame Democrats for being soft on crime, whereas Republicans allow murderers, drug dealers, pedophiles, and other criminals to roam free.
