Hi all, was bored searching the internet and came across these boards.
I was recently filling out the UK census, when it asked what religion I was. I simply ticked the 'No religion' box and was proud to be recorded that I was of no religion. I was also glad that it didn't have the term 'atheist' instead of 'no religion'. When I think of atheist, i think of a group of people, i see atheist groups, atheist meetings, atheist picnics and conventions and it makes me think of it as a religious group in there own right.
If someone asked what religion I was, I would simply say 'I am not religious', instead of saying 'i am an atheist'. Even though, I agree in everything an atheist means, i still feel that calling myself an atheist is putting myself in another group which I do not like.
Anyway, glad to be on these boards, and i apologies for any mis-spelling or grammatical errors, i am half asleep .
