Or am I so smart that the way I process and perceive reality is something you can't comprehend? And your lack of comprehension does not indicate a lack of intelligence on my part?

That’s a hard ‘no’ on both.

At one point in the late 80s, I had a full-time job and 2 part-time jobs, and worked 6 days a week for over 10 years. Sundays were the only day I could sleep in, and they were always at church until lunch time, which meant we had half a day a week for family stuff.
I helped coach our sons football and baseball teams and bathed our daughter every night until she was old enough to do it herself. My wife didn't raise our kids, we did.
Splitting/breaking up wasn't an option for either one of us, and would have fucked up our kids. So we made it work.

Don't pay to much attention to Ahriman. His elevator don't go anywhere near the top.

No problem, I can't be offended by anything someone else says, they're only words. The only people in my life whose opinions mean anything to me are my family's.
You've heard the term that says opposites attract? We're the perfect example of that.

John Cleese is amazing in this movie. I've seen it so many times I could probably recite the entire thing. You empty headed animal food trough wiper!

RE: I'm outnumbered
I am outnumbered in what I consider my hometown, which is by a large majority Catholic. But my family was pretty splintered as far as religion. Mom was not a Catholic and was actually not much of anything - probably closest to atheist than anything and she HATED Catholics in spite of marrying into the faith and being surrounded by them.

Dad wasn't terribly devout and once he was done with college and started his own business and was a businessman in town, he discovered golf. Sunday mornings were men only at the local country club so that became his place to be...though I was often sent off to mass. Alone, since mom didn't go and my siblings were much younger.

Aunts, uncles, cousins on dad's side were all Catholic. Mom's side, if they bothered at all, were Methodist.

Fast forward and I long ago left the Church and am glad to have been free from Catholic school. Of my three kids, two are atheist and one attends church when it suits her. So far, oldest granddaughter is atheist though her other grandparents have tried hard to 'fix' that.

By the time of dad's death he declared his atheism and apparently mom now attends church on the regular.

Husband and I don't discuss religion. He was mostly raised by his southern grandparents who were religious, as expected. I really don't know how much he believes or how much he is afraid to say he doesn't believe in.

Religion just doesn't end up being an issue...thankfully.
