2024 US Presidential Election

RE: 2024 US Presidential Election
MTG has managed to be quiet for a while.  Now she is threatening to shut down the government with votes if we don't make nice with Trump and impeach Biden.

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) seemed defensive after being called part of the “hardcore fringe” of the Republican party following her vow to vote against government funding if House Republicans do not open an impeachment inquiry into President Joe Biden.

If she wants to think the entire bill relies upon her agreement, she's soon to be disillusioned. The Republicans well remember what happened in 1996 after the 1995 shutdown. I doubt she'll garner any support for her hare-brained bullshit.

She should go fuck herself with a cactus.

I would feel sorry for the cactus.

I'd praise it for finding a good target.

I hope so. Her approval rating in Georgia is in the low 30s and even worse nationally. Assuming Trump isn’t barred from running, Greene on the ticket is going to sink him.

RE: 2024 US Presidential Election
Some disturbing news here:

Quote:Former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley is the only GOP presidential candidate who is leading in a hypothetical matchup with President Biden, according to a poll released Thursday.

The CNN poll, conducted by SSRS, found that Haley led Biden 49 percent to 43 percent, while every other major Republican candidate remains neck-and-neck with Biden.

No other GOP hopeful — including former Vice President Mike Pence, Sen. Tim Scott (S.C.), entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy, former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis or former President Trump — showed more than a 2-point margin in the match-up with the sitting president.

When asked about a potential rematch between Trump and Biden, 47 percent of respondents said they would choose the former president, and 46 percent said they would chose the current president; 5 percent said they would choose a different candidate, and 2 percent said they did not plan to vote.

The poll also found that 46 percent of voters said any Republican presidential nominee would be better than Biden in next year’s election, while 32 percent said the sitting president would be a better choice than any of the GOP hopefuls. In comparison, 44 percent said that any Democratic nominee would be better than Trump, while 38 percent say the former president is better than any Democratic nominee.

https://thehill.com/homenews/campaign/41...publicans/

... and then there's this:

Quote:About two in three Democratic-aligned voters say that they would like to see a different nominee than President Biden, a new survey found.

Sixty-seven percent of Democratic and Democratic-leaning voters surveyed in a new CNN poll released Thursday, said they would like their party to nominate someone other than Biden — which is up from the 54 percent who said that in March. Out of those who would like to see a different candidate, 82 percent said that they would prefer any candidate besides the sitting president.

[...]

The biggest concern among Democratic voters is Biden’s age, with nearly half of Democratic-aligned respondents listing it as a top concern. More than half say his age may negatively affect his physical and mental competence, 60 percent said it will negatively impact his ability to be reelected and 61 percent said that it could impact his ability to complete another full term if reelected.

It looks to me like Biden needs Trump to win the Republican nomination in order to spur Dem turnout.

Maybe the DNC will support Trump behind-the-scenes like they did in 2016! It'll work this time!!

I'm betting the Governor of South Dakota is enough of a cock-sucker to be his VP choice.
MTG is far too vocal, and requires far too much of the clown car's attention to even be a possibility.
