2024 US Presidential Election
RE: 2024 US Presidential Election
I foresee the Electoral College handing Trump another win.

Also I'm not sure if it will give results - those willing to vote for trump won't suddenly change their minds. If his previous idiocies didn't make them reconsider then new ones will not too.

The treat is that the undecideds -- and yes, they're a proportion of the American electorate -- will now hear more of Trump's unhingedness. When it's the President who has cognitive issues, that sucks all the oxygen out of the room. When it's only a contender, the press will have more time to spend on it. More independents will hear the deranged stuff. And that will help some undecideds, you know, decide/

Between you and me, I'd like to beat all these "undecideds" with the oak limb that fell off one of our trees last week.

I don't believe it will work. If there are people who still consider trump to be viable option and not merely think whether to vote at all then I doubt that increased coverage of his idiocy will sway them. I don't think that people who don't dismiss trump as a choice can be reached - if they did not turned away from him by now they won't do it at all. At least such is my view.

Yet in virtually every poll of registered, "likely" voters, there's 3-5% who say "undecided". Sure, it calls into question their judgement for my money, but they exist. And this election is about turnout. Every percentage point counts.

I do not question existence of undecided (though I suppose small percentage of said undecided is simply lying about their voting preference). If people are undecided at this point then I would say that they simply don't give a shit and thus increased coverage won't work because they base their decisions on random things; people who are undecided now will vote on trump or Harris cause of price of pork in Tajikistan, cause stars were in right/wrong alignment or maybe because they did not get to pet neighbours dog.

I don't think that more trump in media will bring disaster. I'm simply not convinced that it will bring new votes against him as his insanity has been in plain view for years.

A lot of voters literally vote at the last second. The last memory those voters have of a candidate matters.

I won't say otherwise, though I remain skeptical as to effectiveness of aforementioned strategy. Time will tell I guess.

This will be messy, the Republicans will obstruct and litigate at every turn. I really hope this was the right decision.

I'm still getting anti Biden pop up ads. I hope the supporters paid a shit ton to have them run thru November.
