I don’t discount the value of education, but I still think that video of rapist having his genitals mutilated by a brawny member of the weasel family might have a salutary effect.
We might even combine the two in a mandatory class called, ‘What Will Happen If You Sexually Assault A Woman’.

I feel it will have the same effect as viewing the rotting corpses, hanged my the port entrance, of those convicted of piracy had in preventing piracy.
It would also create sympathy for the guys getting their nuts chewed off, whether they deserve it or not.

A guy, complete stranger, wslked up to me at a party once and just grabbed my tits.
I grabbed his balls at high velocity with my knee.
But, apparently, according to his friends, I was the bad guy.

I can't imagine education works. Most know they shouldn't, or that society thinks they shouldn't, they just don't care and think they won't get punished.
I tend to think that deterrents don't work. What works is the awareness that you highly likely be caught straight away, lack of opportunities to commit the crime easily, and a lack of motive. The motive but for sexual assault is tricky. Maybe there's ways to work on the first two?

Years ago I was at a dance with the guy I was dating at that time. It was in one of dance hall/wedding reception buildings that were in every little town around the area...Live music, big crowds.
We were dancing and some guy came up behind me and grabbed my ass...without looking I swung around and backhanded him with everything I had. Hit him right in the mouth. He thought I was the problem and started mouthing off...my date was a black belt. Ass-grabber backed down when he realized he was about to have his ass handed to him.
He thought the incident was all in fun and totally okay. Lucky for him he didn't end up with nothing broken beyond his split lip.
Another time I was walking home after hanging out with friends. Small town, Sunday afternoon, broad daylight. A car with three guys in it - that I knew but were about four year older - stopped alongside me and one jumped out and grabbed me and stuffed me into the car. Luckily someone from town drove by and slowed down and the guys decided to let me back out of the car...that could have really bad. The people who drove by called my parents later to see if I was okay. I fed into the accepted attitude of the day and said that it was no big deal and I was fine. Really I scared to death.
I don't know how we teach people that touching others without their permission is not acceptable.
The things I describe were back in the 70s and early 80s...it's still the same old shit all these years later.

As long as there are those that deem women as 2nd class, the assaults will continue to happen.
All the education, preemptive measures, punishments in the world will not prevent some entitled asshat from behaving like an entitled asshat. Especially if the men in power have mommy issues.

Education would be far more effective if, as @ Foxaèr pointed out, parents (and other authority figures) would quit promoting the "boys will be boys" bullshit.
There are no easy or perfect answers to this conundrum. All we can do is work towards bettering society as and where we can.

If there were an easy solution, it would have already been implemented. Education will always be the best, if imperfect tool.
The optimist in me says "try and educate our boys (and perhaps girls, to a lesser extent*), maybe socialise them better." And browsing incel forums has taught me that a lot of young men of my generation's levels of socialisation are just a few notches above "raised by wolves."
The pessimist in me says "Just hope the human race dies out soon, and don't expect people to be too moral in the meanwhile."
* I add this little parenthetical not to blame the victims, but because, well, the one time I've witnessed anything close to a sexual assault on a woman in person, it was a girl groping another girl.

Very true. In 6th grade I walked to and from school. There was a boy in my class who lived on the other side of town and rode his bike. Almost every day he ran into the backs of my legs with his front tire. I was continually told that he did it because he liked me...in other words...the men in your life will hurt you because they love/like you.
