The battery on my phone swelled up. It's not meant to be replaced by the user, but I've looked at what's involved, and it's fairly easy to do. The only complication is that the back of the phone is glued on, so attaching it after service can require some improvisation. But with Amazon Prime days coming up, this would be a good time to replace it. It was only a $100 phone when I bought it at the end of 2022, and that $20 for a battery can just as well go for an upgrade that has a user-replaceable battery.

I replaced the battery on my wife's iPhone mini. It involved solvents, a large magnifier and tweezers.  Bending a lithium battery is pucker-inducing.  Never again.
