Wow. Six months ago Kamala Harris was the least popular vice-president in modern history.

And now apparently she's Jesus Christ.

Yes yes, we know Tuck Tuck, she's just so goddamned impressive.

Kamala Harris at least exists. And yes, not as bad as the chump isn't much of a bar.

As for how I'm going to cope? I'll just live my live with having to watch that shit stain running around knocking shit over.

No small part of why I voted for Trump is because I was deeply and tragically WRONG about Bush and the war in Iraq. Trump is both the anti-war president and a tough negotiator that I believe can avoid WWIII and favorable trade deals in impending world wide demographic collapse.

Lucky enough not to start any new wars, I'll give him. Anti-war? That shoe doesn't seem to fit.

He upped airstrikes in Afghanistan, resulting in a 330% increase in civilian deaths. I his four years, 2,243 drone strikes were carried out, compared to Obama's 1,878 in eight years. He brought the US closer to nuclear war (with N. Korea) than at any time since the Cuban Missile Crisis, for no particularly good reason. Withdrawing from our nonproliferation agreement with Iran, which scaled up its provocations in the region and its nuclear program.

Trump incited a failed coup in Venezuela, Congress passed a war powers resolution to try to end his support for the war in Yemen, and they passed another to hold him back from a potential war with Iran after he OK'd the assassination of Soleimani on Iraqi territory, which led to Iraq demanding we exit.

And that's not even getting into releasing 5,000 Taliban fighters and committing to a timetable for a withdrawal from Afghanistan that he wouldn't have to honor, and illegally drawing down US forces in Afghanistan to 1,200 before leaving office.

I'd hate to see what he would do if her were pro-war. Or unrestrained by 'adults in the room'.
I'm not anti-Christian. I'm anti-stupid.

Trump also wanted (and still does) to invade Mexico but was stopped by sober people who held him back which won't be present in the possible second term.

Quote:Trump Asks Advisers for ‘Battle Plans’ to ‘Attack Mexico’ if Reelected

“‘Attacking Mexico,’ or whatever you’d like to call it, is something that President Trump has said he wants ‘battle plans’ drawn for,” says one of the sources. “He’s complained about missed opportunities of his first term, and there are a lot of people around him who want fewer missed opportunities in a second Trump presidency.”

teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

Our country is fucked if he wins. RFK JR will be head of the CDC. Elon Musk will have who knows how much influence and power. Pure incompetence. As someone said: This isn't a test of his character, it's a test of ours now.

I'm ready to protest if he wins. Every day if necessary. Fuck fascists and their sympathizers.
"Tradition" is just a word people use to make themselves feel better about being an asshole.

Uhm, in Haiti they did a revolution and in Santo Domingo an evolution (in the sense it was not a political revolution in Santo Doming but an improvement on what they had). At the end of the day, the everyday life quality for the common citizen was better in Santo Domingo than in Haiti.
The same in Iran: Iran pre revolution was a fantastic liberal place, the Iranians were more westerners than us, they appreciated a lot of our freedomds, now Iran is a place where a woman can be beaten to death if she shows her hairs in public...

The Iranian revolution, while a dramatic step backwards socioculturally, was eminently successful in its goal of overthrowing the monarchy. The Tudeh side of it was a huge flop, but the Muslim fundamentalist side of it was successful beyond their wildest dreams.

What if somebody loves you? They care for you and nurture you and encourage you. They help guide you back from the abyss. You feel you don't deserve that love. But that person is a Trumptard. That person is preoccupied with the fucking economy and has the misguided delusion that Trump will somehow improve the fucking economy. And you have a moral conviction that supporting Trump is an act against the good of the human race. What then?

That's what I'm facing. I hope it will go away tomorrow, at least for another four years.
Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former.

I didn't say they were good, I said they were successful. The only possible metric for whether a revolution is successful is whether the revolutionaries get what they want. In the four you listed, that was clearly the case.

I expect a Trump victory. I will probably cancel my subscriptions to the NYT and the WSJ and try to ignore the next 4 years. He will not leave the WH on his own two feet. They'll have to drag him out. He is accountable to no one if he wins.
