That likely would be the best scenario for everyone involved, including for Trump himself if he wants to be remembered well by anyone. He could exit before he gets even worse. I have read opinion pieces suggesting that there isn't much motivation among congressional Democrats to impeach Trump again even if they retake the House in the midterms. Simply put, without enough votes in the Senate, it would be a waste of time. Nevertheless, Democrats taking control of Congress again could prevent further damage to the U.S. until Trump is finally gone for good. In the meantime, only judges and the people themselves can hope to keep him in line with the laws, through their judgments and demonstrations. I checked some US polls about upcoming mid-term elections, and still 40-49% of voters would actively vote for the insanity we are witnessing.

I hope i am wrong, seriously. The last thing i want to see is Thump Jr. being put in harms way by people like this, over nonsense like that.

I've wondered about this for a while, but do most people (especially Americans, since they have the clearest view of it) think that most people that voted Trump are still happy with that decision, after they've seen all he's done, or do they just stick with him... supporting him... to double down or save face? I have no idea but I can't say I've seen many ordinary people speaking up for him. ETA: Sorry, this post has nothing to do with Deesse's post, or any other post really, we just happened to post at nearly the exact same time. This is just something general I've been wondering about for a long time, but never looked into.

I was talking about Starmer (I've edited the main post a bit earlier to make that clearer)... as in saying I might vote for Starmer because of his standing up to Trump (because I'm British not American). I think we might have got our lines crossed is what I'm saying, unless you meant Starmer was in poor health, but if so I never knew anything about that. Sorry anyway, doesn't matter.
