To me interventionist imply something at least somewhat benign and thus I wouldn't label trump as such.
The first revolt is against the supreme tyranny of theology, of the phantom of God. As long as we have a master in heaven, we will be slaves on earth.

Quote:DUBAI, United Arab Emirates (AP) — The death toll from nationwide protests in Iran spiked Tuesday to at least 2,000 people killed, activists said, even as Iranians made phone calls abroad for the first time in days after authorities severed communications during a crackdown.

The number of dead, as reported by the U.S.-based Human Rights Activists News Agency, dwarfs that in any other round of protest or unrest in Iran in decades and recalls the chaos surrounding the country’s 1979 Islamic Revolution. These demonstrations, which began in anger over Iran’s ailing economy, soon targeted the theocracy, particularly 86-year-old Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

There are different kinds of interventionism - economic, political, military. The takeover of Venezuela seems to tick all the boxes.

Iran being the most populous and most heavily armed nation and the only Shiite major player in the Middle East (and a staunch supporter of Russia) a regime change could cause major ripples. Amirite?

Two shall enter, one shall leave. But who will fill the vacuum left is another question.

Quite possibly. I don't think it will result in any outward change; any hypothetical new regime would likely be far too busy consolidating power to once again export revolution. If said new regime is pragmatic, they will court both Saudi Arabia and Israel -- at least privately -- in order to focus on internal and domestic issues like inflation, unemployment, and what will obviously be a dangerous radical-Islam revanchist movement.

So the rapprochement with Saudi Arabia will likely continue. Russia will lose an important source of drones. Houthis, Hezbollah, and Hamas will be hurt even moreso than the Gaza War already has. Perhaps the biggest result of IRI being overthrown might be peace (finally) in Yemen?

Everyone today is sceptic about the Crown-Prince Pahlavi. After all his father was (in effect) one of the worst dictators of the 20th century. A bit like today’s MBS but perhaps even worse than him.

But this guy said in 2023 in the Women-Life-Freedom movement that he did not want any political power in Iran and that he was now more American than Iranian.

Now he is saying that he might play an intermediary role in a transition to a parliamentary monarchy or a total secular Republic.

The fact that he is close to Israel and that D. Trump is repeating him while talking to the Iranian people by saying “Take back your institutions, help is on the way” is not a bad thing either.

All I am saying is that the images from Iran are terrible. And Russia and China are openly supporting the Mullah Regime. It was them who taught them how to jam the few Starlink antennas so that Iranian people get killed by their own government without anybody even seeing it. If the IRI gets support from China and Russia then what’s wrong with the rest of the world supporting an orderly transition to a more humane and rational regime in Iran?

That sounds lovely. The Mad King has no interest whatsoever in any of that, though. Whatever he's doing in iran or to iran, you can be absolutely sure it has nothing to do with an orderly transition...or a more humane or more rational regime. Being close to israel or the donbo are certainly both bad things. Here's to hoping he's a political opportunist and not a fellow traveler.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!
