Waiting now for Trump to blow an artery or to simply quit.

There’s some thinking that he may resign once your new Congress is sworn in and have Vance pardon him, à la Nixon/Ford.

I’m pretty skeptical about that - Trump doesn’t have it in him to simply walk away.

Before anything like him quitting happens, he is going to fuck up everything he can in the next two months.  A high bar for him but I think his need for revenge will cause him to try.

Especially now that MAGA has become VETO.

He will try and mess stuff up, but honestly, I think he will overextend and just end up hurting the Republicans' chances in 2028. Their going to be forced to make a choice: his ass or theirs

Congratualtions to all who voted blue. Good job! You just saved your country from the abyss!

however

Dont wanna spoil all the fun, but (i am gonna to): Even in the bluest of blue districts ca. 25% of voters were going "Trump, Vance, Hegseth, Kushner, the corruption, the incompetence, the unnecessary wars, the racism, FUCK YEAH!"

As a european citizen i would like to keep good relations with the US, especially with administrations that are non-republican, but also to keep them at an arms lenght for good measure, for now.

It's a step in the right direction.  Nothing is going to happen in a hurry that is a big change.  But the states that flipped show that people are sick of the current shit.

The worry I have is that this election went blue because the Electoral College was not a player.  The next presidential election, we will be again at the mercy of the EC.

For now I am going to bask in the widespread happiness of those who voted for change, or against Trump, however you want to look at it.

That being said, we too have a 25% problem, and we need to adress that one too. Again, congratualtions, hard to imagine the future if this didnt happen. This would have had global effects, and not of the good sorts. Lets hope your success will also propel our own fascist movments out of the orbit of governmental control.

All the new Congress needs to do is keep things from getting worse - that should give them a lock on 2028.

Not if Vance grants him a pardon, he won’t.

^Can't pardon state crimes. He was convicted of 40+ felonies in the state of New York.

That conviction has been discharged, IIRC.
