It is very real. They even claim to have a reward for someone to offer "real" evidence for evolution.

They dont have to be inbred, nor brainwashed. The majority of them were taught to believe this from the cradle, regardless of race or wealth.

Every fossil discovered is a missing link in the tree of life. Well, less like a tree and more like a tumbleweed. Every new fossil of species found fill in gaps of other branches that were not connecting well to the rest. Same with humans. Each new species found is a missing link. Missing link is something drug out by creationists who prey on peoples ignorance of biology. The reason why some smarter creationists use it is they know "it" cannot be found, as the missing link is an on going quest, not a goal. Here is the true definition of "missing link"
wiki Wrote:Transitional fossils (popularly termed missing links) are the fossilized remains of intermediary forms of life that illustrate an evolutionary transition. They can be identified by their retention of certain primitive (plesiomorphic) traits in comparison with their more derived relatives, as they are defined in the study of cladistics. Numerous examples exist, including those of primates and early humans.
According to modern evolutionary synthesis, all populations of organisms are in transition. Therefore, a "transitional form" is a human construct of a selected form that vividly represents a particular evolutionary stage, as recognized in hindsight. Contemporary "transitional" forms may be called "living fossils", but on a cladogram representing the historical divergences of life-forms, a "transitional fossil" will represent an organism near the point where individual lineages (clades) diverge.
In other words, me and you are the missing link as well, since we are transitional. Except that we arent fossils...yet...LOL. For those biology students on the board, please take it easy on me. I know my post isnt perfect.

This is a good start for you then.

Exactly. Evolution isn't a chain with a monkey at one end and a human at the other. The only people who use the "missing link" strawman are creationists trying to disprove evolution. They actually believe that until we produce a half-man, half-monkey skeleton, then there can be no proof of the missing link. And even if we did produce some kind of half-man, half-monkey skeleton, they'd claim that it was a forgery.

The funny thing is that we have produced half man / half ape looking fossils before, but the Creationists refuse to consider them as such. They either say "That is 100% monkey" or "that is 100% man".

Then again, humans ARE apes, so to ask for a "half man/half ape" is never going to happen. We can, however, produce fossils of COMMON ANCESTORS that have that appearance.

Then again, deduction on fossil bones alone is not enough to make a good placement on the family tree. Some fossils will sit there with lots of speculation until more evidence is discovered across fields. the more fields that are in agreement, the more exacting the placement in the family tree.

As I have said before, biology students, please go gentle on me.. I am being short and general in this discussion.

Thanks for the vid and feedback welshcake Smile

And rev, thanks for helping a sod out who is plagued by the sin of sloth Tongue

One thing that pisses me off most about creationists is that they confuse the fact that we didn't come from chimpanzees or gorillas. They think that we evolved from these animals, but we didn't. Which is annoying. What they always fail to realise is that these animals took a seperate path down the evolution 'tree' if you like. We didn't evolve FROM chimps or gorillas, they evolved from the same lifeforms we did at some point they just took a different direction! It's just that somewhere along the line they changed differently to us.

Oh and in reference to me calling them inbreds or brainwashed, it wasn't serious. DUH! They are just morons.

Yeah, the old "if we evolved from monkeys, then why are there still monkeys?" strawman. To which I like to reply, "If man was created from dirt like it says in the bible, then why is there still dirt?"

Lol i'll use that one next time. But seriously, that's all i ever hear from them. It just underlines their absolute lack of knowledge on the subject.

Or, I also like the arguments of "the universe couldn't have always just existed" and "everything has to have a creator." Except God, of course, who always just existed.

Yeah god is obviously different. Thats our fault for not understanding that *FACEPALM*

Anything that supposedly exists outside the confines of our universe is not bound by our universe's physical laws, therefore it is impossible for any one of us to speculate what is outside the confines of our universe, if indeed there is anything.

Don't see how it's relevant to the OP if i'm honest though. Was more intending to see some vids of retards being argued with Blush

If the point of arguing with ninnies wasn't for lulz... then I think I'm in the wrong thread. I clearly misread the sign: /b/ is thataway.

As for the onyxia wipe animation... for the sake of Susan. Where have you been for 15 years that you never even heard of an MMO raid? Thinking

Guide to onyxia...

Simply: Claws are bad. Tails are bad. Teeth are bad. Fire is bad. Whelp caves are bad.

It's really not that complicated.

I suppose you can think it's relevant but it's not what i'd have guessed people to post. Either way i'm grateful for ya for at least posting something Smile

And i'm not an MMO player, i play RPG's and understand the basic mechanics, ranged fighters, tanks, casters blah blah blah etc but i've never played world of warcraft.

And 15 years? 15 years ago i was 3, so maybe that's your answer.
