Place for articles?
May 11, 2011 at 3:54 pm
(This post was last modified: May 11, 2011 at 3:55 pm by Doubting Thomas.)
I've written a few articles on atheism, religion, & such and am in the process of writing a few more, and would like to post them here for my fellow forum users to digest. Is there any place in particular it would be OK to post them? Some of them are kind of lengthy so would be more than a standard post. But I'm not talking book length or anything.

I know that it's one of the forum guidelines to not copy and paste lengthy quotes and articles from another website. But, let's see what the Admin says.

I'd suggest uploading as PDFs to a file-hosting site and posting links for now.
Although the admins might be generous and set up some kind of "user-generated content" section, I wouldn't count on it!
Having said that, I, for one, think that if there is enough interest from members to keep such a section updated at least semi-regularly, it would be a great addition to the forums.

Yeah, that sounds like a good idea, or maybe something like a "Cut-and-Paste University" section where people post articles for educational purposes, just not the really preachy ones.

I might be interested in this as well. I write several times a week for my own blog, and some of the posts are related to religion, philosophy, etc. (an increasing number these day, it seems), and they may have some interest here.

You might get away with posting them in the pit..the rules are relaxed in that Top Topic.
Personally it may be a good idea to ask a mod.

I'm not talking about cutting & pasting from other websites, I'm talking about articles of which I'm the author. I have posted some at atheiststoday.com, I could just link to them there.

Your best bet would be something like this.
http://www.mediafire.com/
Upload your files and then post the links with a synopsis of what they are about.

Then you can make a topic "my articles" (or whatever you want to name it ) and then people can subscribe to it and you can post at your leasure
Then you can put a link to that thread subscription in your signature to encourage people to post in it.
