And the prayer was also obnoxious. I'd knife them all, but that might offend someone. And we just couldn't have that Sleepy

It's not about getting offended at prayer, it's about state funded institutions leading prayer at an official function. They're free to pray they just shouldn't expect any tax dollars as it's against our constitution.

I'm kind of on the fence with this one myself...

On one hand - fuck you christians. FaithNoMore is right, you're just defending your OWN right to prayer you hypocritical bastards!
On the other hand - one of the things that set me apart in high school was keeping my hat on and eyes open whenever prayers were being said. That was my protest and everybody knew it. But more importantly, their stupid prayer didn't really interfere with my day, nor did it hurt me. I wasn't being forced to say incantations or do the sign of the cross. It was a momentary pause for them to say thank you to their sky captain. Stupid as it is - it's less offensive than most anything else a christian can do.

I guess I'm not always real sure where the line is on this one. I want to at least try to have some tolerance.

right?

As an update to this....this young man has literally been run out of town. His parents have kicked him out and he is on his way to live with his brother somewhere in Texas. You can read the commentary from his brother here

that sucks ... it's a shame his own mother is such a mindless imbecile. If my son tells me he believes that the spagetti & meatball monster bore a son to the virgin tooth fairy - I still would not kick him out of my house. My love for him is unconditional. Fuckin Christians!

It is, however, against the law in the United States...something these pompous scumbags are quick to seize upon when it serves their own discriminatory purposes.

Wow, was it that easy to be kicked out by your parents? 0.o Or I suppose they'd have to not care first. Oh well, it's too late to make effective use of that anyway Tongue

Lucky him, but he's sent to Texas as a result? Tut... one would have hoped his brother lived somewhere like California Wink

Depends on how old he is, if under 18 he could have his parents charged with abandonment. If he's 18 or over & doesn't have a lease with his parents, he *could* make life very hard for them by just refusing to leave. Evictions can take up to 3 months, at least where I live.
