Question for deists: Why is there a Creator?

Is God understood from the material? Or is God bigger? How do you explain the connection of metaphysical and physical in the creation? The point I was making was that if many gods exist then presumably they all were in on creation? Or did some just abstain and let the god(s) interested in creating things just get on with it? O I see now. Well anything's possible I suppose. It's hard enough to accept the idea of one God ... I think I'll leave the idea of multiple gods to someone else.

I just feel you then flush it down the toilet from there on in.

Even if someone perceives such a connection - How do you explain a connection to something whose existence isn't even verifiable? You can't. At best the argument can be nothing more than personal conjecture. (As it is for me) Besides, it will always come back to the same old adage ... "prove it." Which is a valid challenge, and unless God decides to show up some day in a fiery chariot, is never going to happen. |
