Greets everyone. Apologies for my first post being a slightly spammy self-publicism. I'm proud to announce that I've just had a book e-published that may interest those with an atheist. It's called "Life is Simple" and is available from Amazon:
US: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B0052U9JW8
UK: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0052U9JW8
Germany: https://www.amazon.de/dp/B0052U9JW8
I wrote this because despite religion having done a good deal of messing up the world, it claims some kind of moral and spiritual high-ground. Science is seen and portrayed as cold, evil, and unrelated to how existence feels. But I realised that the same mechanism lies at the core of science and the core of our conscious lives. And that it can be exploited to help improve our quality of life. This book is an odd blend of science, maths, philosophy, machine learning and self-help, with the central idea that at the heart of all the complexity of the world around us, there are simpler principles at work. By making science relevant to everyday life, my hope is to draw some of the power religion (bafflingly) has over people because of its assertion that there are no alternatives. Scientism? Maybe. I'll argue that corner :-)
