RE: Hi everyone
@Dan: There might be smart theists out there (highly unlikely though), and everyone who is willing to challenge atheists's way of thinking is welcome here. Easy practice targets, you know.. Big Grin
When I was young, there was a god with infinite power protecting me. Is there anyone else who felt that way? And was sure about it? but the first time I fell in love, I was thrown down - or maybe I broke free - and I bade farewell to God and became human. Now I don't have God's protection, and I walk on the ground without wings, but I don't regret this hardship. I want to live as a person. -Arina Tanemura

RE: Hi everyone
You guys are funny. You rush into puting the boxers gloves on when I didn't even come to fight. But ultimately I find your reactions interesting. Look, I believe that its good to have good intentions and respect atleast for beliefs that don't teach that you are evil just because you are non believer. Yes I do read a lot of different books but ultimately I make up my own mind. As for evidence, you have to have faith and be a seeker and maybe you get it and maybe you don't. In my case I don't feel like going into some arguments now and there are experiences such in my case I don't want to go into. Anyway, you can take your gloves of becuse I am not interested in fighting. Thanks.

I think in your opening post you said you use reason(apologies if i read incorrectly).......... clearly not. Faith is not reason. Faith does not answer questions, it just stabs wildly at an answer you invariably want to hear.

Welcome to the forum.

I remember a bit from you before, the 'undecided' guy... welcome back. As to the boxers gloves, all I have to say is that you received a few friendly ribbings so far...

Sorry if it looked like a fight, Pel. I was genuinely wondering why theists join into these kinds of forums. Wanna talk about boxing gloves, just wait until one of us atheists tries expressing a sincere opinion on a Christian forum...watch how fast we get banned. That's what happened to me during my deconversion. Asked a *few* too many hard questions and BOOM....no more Schaffiro on Christianity.com.

I didn't put on any gloves at all... infact I reminded you guys of the pre-fight doughnut Heart

I'm possibly your best friend here... the mighty defender of theists when no atheist can be bothered Sleepy

I didn't challenge you to a fight. I just asked if you had any evidence.

Don't feel bad if you don't.

None of the others do.

RE: Hi everyone
Okay, thanks for a much wormer welcome! I am an old member anyway. I am sorry to hear that christians are mistreating you on their forums( they must think that they are scoring points with Jesus that way).

I will say that I believe that if I was to mistreat atheists or a deist(wich is a part of what I am) is the same. I don't think that because someone is a non believer that I can mistreat him and not acumulate any bad "forune" with God.

I believe that if I was to do harm to atheists that I would be responsible the same for if I was to do it to a believer of any faith. Same I think of you mistreating others(in case you do), you will not get anything good out of it.

I kind of believe in God and Karma so to say. I believe that I have seen evidence of cause effect in my life(sorry but I wont go into the details) and one thing I learned is that you can't do bad to who you might think are bad people and not feel the effects of God's displeasure.

So, now you know that I hold no animosity towards you and that it is against my personal beliefs to mistreat you. I don't think any of you are bad, but I do think that you are mising out on awe that I have felt at times. I believe that faith is a wonderful thing.

Anyway peace and again thank you for your welcome!

Perhaps that's meant to be "warmer" welcome. What you've got there conveys a whole different message!
