I'm reminded of the story going round a couple of years ago about the guy who claimed that the Earth had to be powered with "god's love" or it would have been frozen a long time ago. He said that the heat radiating off into space had to be replaced some how and that it would take a god to do it. "Either that or some giant heat source hanging out there is space that constantly renews the warmth. And if that were true somebody would have noticed it by now."


Poe or not, I know people who think like that.
