Shouting loud (as well as using mockery, e.g. mocking others in explanations/proving) is a method of manipulating, which is very effective when the arguments are weak, and very effective for indoctrinating people (to put an idea in the head of men and make sure that the idea will stay there, and if possible, never to go away). It has an effect similar to saying "don't ask questions!", "don't doubt it!", etc. having a strong effect, both on the crowd that believes him and on the minority that 'would' doubt.

That's how religious leaders impose themselves to the laymen in the churches: shouting loud - it's a kind of intimidation. And as explaining with mockery, shouting loud does not allow people who 'might' not agree with them to contradict them, because of fear (either the anger - something like "do you dare BLASPHEME!!?", or the ridicule, or both). They fear both the leader and the rest of the crowd. It's the danger of you being seen by the majority as doing THE WORST/THE MOST EVIL - they hate you because the leader is shouting loud in anger and he hates you. Or, in case of speaking mockingly, the danger of everyone seeing you as ridiculous and laughing of you mockingly (even if they are all stupid and you're right), because they imitate their leader who showed them how to act like.

If a leader (even an informal one) uses loud shouting or mockery when teaching/explaining, it's like saying "Do what I do and say what I say!!", with a very strong effect (and it strongly influences people to be closed-minded).

That which you say was not islamic - it was only human. As I was speaking about the qur'an, I was speaking about Islamic stuff, not greek and human knowledge. Perhaps I was not clear enough: The Qur'an was never useful for the scientific development (as the muslims claim that all kind of modern scientific things are written in the qur'an), i.e. the qur'an did not help scientific development at all.

The muslims have used the ancient greek knowledge as a base, and they developed on it.
As about the arabic digits, it was not the muslims' invention. Read this.
